The Heartland

Friday, January 21st, 2005

Just spent nine hours riding through the southern heartland (Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina) and was struck by really how beautiful this country is and still so relatively undeveloped, which is a good thing. As much as people complain about “suburban sprawl” you can still drive through most parts of the country for hours upon hours and literally pass next to nothing.

Just a thought.

Coincidence… I think not.

Mark infront of GOP Elephant
Here is me infront of one of the GOP Elephant ice sculptures at the George Washington Inaugural Ball, nothing too exciting, but I was proud to see the University atleast thought of the Republicans in this celebration. As you can see, by the off-set nature of my vest, I spent most of the night tearing it up on the dance floor.

Trachtenberg
The man in the stunning cowboy hat is our university president (also very high up in the Masonic Lodge… just a tad bit suspicious. He is an uber-liberal, and is one of those classic limo liberal types. Lots of money, so what’s he care if the government taxes you 50%, he still has enough to live.

Tolerant Liberals…

You really do have to see this picture to believe it. These people have absolutely no shame and every one of them should be severely reprimanded, but schools won’t do this anymore because they have no back bone. Liberal mobs threaten people and the universities cave, happened right here at George Washington when protestors illegally camped out in the middle of a university building and caused a ruckus. The Metro Police arrested them but then refused to push any charges, because Sen. Ted Kennedy came and demagogued over it. Is there no decency left?

On another side note, I just returned from the George Washington University Inaugural Ball (pictures coming) and only saw ONE person with a Kerry button on, as for the most part it was a politics free night (as it should be). Yet, one has to wonder how sad and pathetic someone is to wear a Kerry button to a non-political party meant to celebrate the country. Just get over it already.
