Here’s an Idea
Written by Mike on February 13th, 2005Maybe we should construct a sort of quiz/test to see where someone falls within the GOP/conservative spectrum. Thoughts? I insist that it include the question: It should be legal for two consenting adults to challenge each other to a duel and fight a Death Match Yes or No? That is my all time favorite question I have ever been asked on a political quiz. This may seem frivolous, but it serves two purposes: one it helps us iron out the finer points of conservatism in an interesting way and two it would bring more traffic to the site to take our True Republican quiz.

Very difficult. There is the elite Rockefeller wing, then you have the Neocons, then you have Libertarians, the Religous Right would be a specific group, how would you distinguish yourself Alex for example, you are very religous, but not one of those guys. How about this question? Do you believe in the public burning of porn? lol just kidding. I think the four corners idea would be the best, but how to capture the range of conservatism would be difficult. There is just such variety. Where would a NR conservative fall, a neocon or libertarian, but even those don’t carfully explain things. Neocons are focused on foriegn policy, while libertarians are focused on domestic policy. Maybe we have two tests, one for domestic issues and one for foreign policy issues?

Instead of just handing out a label like neo-conservative or libertarian, we could take their answers and give more of a “description” of their political position. I realize that would take a lot more time, but it would be more personalized - and accurate.
