AZ For Gourley?

Unconfirmed by College Republicans from MI Blog is reporting it. How anyone can sell their soul over this still bothers me, but it looks like another one did.

    On Arizona going for Gourley it is, current CRNC First Vice Chairman Manny Espinoza delivered his home state for Gourley. According to sources Gourley promised Espinoza that he would help make him Hispanic Outreach Director for the RNC. A long shot, given Davidson’s connections to those in the Bush Campaign and in California.

It is true that the only people who support Paul Gourley today are those who have a job coming there way…. but sadly, that may be enough.

    I think it’s funny if Gourley really promised Manny he would help him get that position, and that Hoplin had Manny in charge of Hispanic outreach. Manny can’t speak a word of Spanish and did nothing major with the program. How is Manny supposed to reach out to the Spanish media when he can’t speak the language???

    Sure, the practice of jobs for support or votes is a part of any good political campaign… but for Gourley, that is his political campaign. Rather than trying to reach out to regular CR’s like Davidson has, Gourley is trying to go over our heads and still win.

    I seem to be having trouble finding a person who supports Gourley who wasn’t bribed, threatened, bullied, or otherwise coerced into doing so. If that is what our elections are based on, then we are in more trouble than we once thought.

    This is a comment on a blog, not an email. Dan’s put moles in my organization before (albeit, not the best, but the intent was there), and now he has them again. On that note, if anyone wants to hear a good story about the illustrious leadership of the NY CRs, just call anyone living in the eastern half of the state north of NYC - just don’t let Dan find out about your dissent, he’ll cut off your chapter, too.

    I’m afraid “Godfather tactics” is the wrong term, as it would apply effectiveness and respect from subordinates; his style for election fraud borrows more from Joe Kennedy than Don Corleone.     Well let them try. Tony Zammit has all ready received the endorsements from chairs of two of the largest chapters in the state, including Bethel University, Jake Grassel’s home school. With the campaign being less than 48 hours old, Zammit is looking pretty strong right now.

    And the idea that the state party is not going to let us pick our own leadership is insulting. I would hope they are not so immature as to take their ball and go home just because someone they don’t get along with was elected to represent the Minnesota College Republicans. Once again it is the old tactics of threats and intimidation against what is a popular and experienced leader in the College Republicans. Everyone knew they would resort to these tactics rather than trying to sell their inexperienced and unknown candidate. Hopefully it won’t work this time around.

    Everything the “CR vets for truth” say has obvious bias in it, it’s filled with subjective judgements against Davidson and for Gourley. For example:

    Frankly, Dan’s been one of the few state chairs and CR’s to stand up and speak out on the CRNC issue. If his work in NY has been less than par that’s unfortunate, but his decision to stand up to Hoplin and Co. is worthy of praise and his voice is an important force on the National Board. Without Dan on the National Board, our organization is unquestionably weaker. I support Dan and anyone like him who is willing to stand and fight for what’s right when it isnt politically expedient.

Half of their posts expound on how fair and unbiased they are, followed by, “Look, we include stuff from people we disagree with.” The dozen other blogs covering the CRNC stuff do exactly the same thing.     If California is anything like my state, most of the chapters arent comfortable releasing the personal information of their members to the CRNC. Therefore it’s pretty easy to know how many delegates you’re going to get.

    The whole credentialing process needs to be changed. It’s open to so much corruption that having any trust in it is almost impossible. They should base delegates by the number of universities in a state (or the sum of their respective enrollments), or just follow the electoral college format.

    Dan is a self confessed Machiavellian opportunist. It just so happened that a scandal happened that gave him something to grip about. If this would have never happened would Dan’s name even be on this page? No. Now many of you say that makes him brave, that it makes him a statesman, a person we should stand behind. I think anyone in their right minds will agree that speaking out against something because it took advantage of elderly is the right thing to do no matter who you are. However, speaking out against the elderly so that you can shamelessly promote yourself is unethical and completely irresponsible. Dan is a sham, and a complete waste of time and consideration. He has sold out his closest friends and allies so that he simply hold on to his chairmanship. He makes empty promises and has never kept his word. He has ideas, but he has no ambition, or dedication to follow through with them. He simply leaves a wake of bloody and wounded. Davidson would be a fool to bring Dan on his ticket. I can say right now that not even New York what support him as a national candidate.

    I am sure all of you speak in the majority (saracasm). It is human nature that if someone is this hated and someone is this despise that they will inevitably see defeat. He would have an opponent, rather many opponents because of the up-for-grabs support to garner. Speaking to many people in this state and as someone who had to follow the NYCRs and work with them i know that Dan is extremely popular amongst 95% of his state. The other 5%, ladies and gentlemen, activists in this blog. some of that 5% stems from the kid he defeated (yet screams of an unfair election…right). Every state chair has people who hate them. The higher one climbs the more enemies he gathers. Its the law of life. The NY 5% conveniently found there way in a blog to unite. posting anonymously allows them to look like a 90%. So to Dan: You have New York’s support in any endeavor you wish to achieve. I am not a CR but just someone who has been following the inner workings and the results of the NYCRs.
    So to these 5%: I am certain i can name all of 6 of you who are posting and your motives. For now, i have to get back to the leg. hall.
    So to everyone: Let’s be Republicans without factions. It is great to support one candidate for national election over another. However this inner state stuff shows that you care more about yourself than the Party. A previous poster can say Dan said what he did for himself… not true, rather it was for NYCRs. He cleared the name of NYCRs in this scandal as to go on record and announce that we do not condone these actions. He not only set out to clear CRs name around the nation but it definately rings true to NY. You should be so lucky. I know these comments and posts wont stop their irrelevancy but what is inevitable is… inevitable. Godspeed, Vince.

    Dan has not asked for anything if Davidson is elected. Centenielo, I’m assuming is focusing on delivering the Empire State for Davidson, and will do all he can to help Davidson nationwide, to help bring a new day to the College Republican National Committee.

    Look, everyone knows that Dan won fair and square. By changing the constitution and letting the executive board vote just so that we made sure Dan got in is fair game. It was okay to make up schools to ensure that other kid, Eric didnt’t get in. Eric was a corrupt kid who did not want to run this state.     I have to reiterate my disgust with anonymous bloggers. I have no idea who “The NY Majority” is because if they truly are the majority in New York then they are most likely Democrats. That said, I do have to agree that some people are leaders and some are not. Last evening I saw a declaration by the e-board of the NYCRSC renouncing any authority Dan Centinello has. That says to me that he is not a leader and not fit to lead the National Committee. As for “fall[ing] in line,” I do support the party as long as the party is being conservative. I am not a politician. I am citizen, a college student, a veteran of the Navy, and a conservative that has a vision for America.

    The New York College Republican Executive Board

    “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”

    “There comes a point when as a people you realize that you can no longer just simply protest. You can no longer verbally chastise the actions of others while you allow those wrongs to be done. This point comes when you realize that you must stand up for what is right, and ultimately what is for the best of your constituents. What is best for the clubs, the organization, the Party.”

    –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of itself, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new organization and a new Chairman, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their productiveness and vitality. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that the NYCRSC long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown, that this organization is more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the Chairman to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, their responsibility, to throw off such a ruler, and to provide new Guards for the future security of the organization. —Such has been the patient sufferance the New York State College Republicans; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter the current situation. The history of the present Chairman Dan Centinello is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over this organization. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid state.

    He has refused his Assent to Laws, and the State constitution, the most wholesome and necessary for the good of the organization. He has obstructed any proposed checks and balances proposed by the State Committee Executive Board.

    He has forbidden his State Committee to enact actions of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

    He has called together the State Committee in an untimely, inconsistent manner, at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their clubs, for the sole purpose of fatiguing, and manipulating them into compliance with his measures.

    He has dissolved clubs and entire regions repeatedly for opposing his policies or lack there of.

    He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to allow others to be elected; whereby he has rigged and stolen elections. He has used intimidation and scare tactics to force people to resign, and ultimately abused his power of influence.

    He has endeavored to prevent the expansion of clubs in this state unless it overwhelmingly and unquestionably supports him.

    He has made officers dependent on his will alone, for the tenure of their offices.

    He has erected a multitude of new clubs, and harassed our members, and intimidated our executive boards.

    He has used slander, and libel, both personal and professional to degrade the character of those in his presence. He had done this for personal gain and with complete disregard for others.

    For cutting off communication amongst the Executive Board by disabling our emails and contact information.

    For destroying all communication on a regional and statewide level.

    For destroying relations with Town and County committees.

    For destroying relations with the New York State Republican Committee.

    For taking away our Chapters, abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally, the forms and policies of our Constitution.

    He has incited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to promote revolts in our own chapters.

    He has ignored what is best for New York State so that he may focus on national politics, all at the expense of the organization and the Republican Party here in New York.

    In every stage of these Oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the Chairman of the New York College Republican State Committee.

    We, therefore, the New York College Republican State Committee Executive Board in affiliation with the College Republican National Committee are hereby making a declaration of independence. By the authority bestowed upon us in our beloved constitution, and our moral obligation, we do hereby strip Chairman Dan Centinello of all clout and power. We hereby proclaim control and oversight of the 2005 NYCRSC Convention and all of its policies. As a unified State Committee Executive Board, we remove the authority to recognize and derecognize any club from the Chairman’s hands and back into the committees. We herby remove any power delegated to the Chairman by our const
