Why Pat Buchanan Hates Himself

Written by Jack O'Reilly on March 15th, 2005

I found this November 10, 1972 memo from Buchanan to Nixon. It explains so much.

“The President’s four appointments to the Supreme Court were among the most significant and far reaching decisions of the first term. Fifty years from now, liberals will say: ‘what we have to do is turn the Supreme Court in our direction–the way President Nixon did.’”

Poor Pat. Ten weeks after this was written the Supreme Court gave us Roe. He oversaw the installation of 3/4 of the Supreme Court justices whose decision led to the slaughter of tens of millions of Americans.

I’m sure we would all be (even more) disillusioned with politics if any of us had been in power when this happened.
