Below is a letter Gourley sent to CRVetsForTruth, the italics are MY commentary
Carl,
You are absolutely correct in your assessment and praise of our great organization. I’m sure we all should be proud of the fundraising scheme to fleece seniors and deceive people The plague of political infighting for personal gain will destroy all that so many of us have worked to build Yeah and the #1 political infight is over this tiny, issue called ethics. Heaven forbid anyone hold the CRNC to account for what they did. In past CRNC campaigns those who seek to destroy for personal gain have sent anonymous newsletters. This year the face of that plague has taken on a new look; that of the anonymous blogs Yes, we here at SaveTheGOP agree that CRNCTruthCaucus has often crossed the line, but what about us legitimate bloggers who are raising more than legitimate questions? I would like Gourley to answer that. I think my stance on this ridiculous “Truth” blog, and the others similar to it, is clear: they are cowardly, disingenuous, racist, and an embarrassment to our organization! True, but the press stories about Gourley’s shady fundraising is a larger embarrassment
I agree with you that a spirited campaign for CRNC National Chairman is healthy for our organization. However, this spirited campaign must stay focused on the issues to ensure a constructive dialogue for the College Republican National Committee occurs. I look forward to continuing this dialogue with College Republicans across the nation, and I pledge to continue to run a clean, positive campaign! Yes, so you want the debate to happen, but you’ve rejected Davidson’s calls for a debate… mmm hypocrisy
I join you in calling on my opponent, Michael Davidson, and College Republicans across the nation to join us in condemning these blogs. SaveTheGOP doesn’t like the way CRNCTruthCaucus has gone across the line BUT we don’t like people who commit disingenuous acts in our names. So Mr. Gourley quit dodging the REAL issue
I also hope that Michael will join me in signing a clean campaign pledge.
Sincerely,
Paul Gourley
