    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    March 19, 2005

On Friday, March 18, 2005, Douglass VanNess a senior at the State University of New York at University of Albany announced his national candidacy for College Republican National Chairman.

Doug, a 25-year-old senior at SUNY Albany is a navy veteran and a leader of many political and community service organizations. In the past year and half Doug has been an integral part of the University of Albany College Republicans and currently serves on their behalf on the clubs Executive Board. Doug has been involved in many local and statewide campaigns in and around New York State, and is currently involved in two local community boards.

Douglass last week looked at the two other campaigns for National Chair and realized that while both campaigns wanted to bring reform and restore dignity back to the College Republican name nether candidate could.

“Both candidates are bought out by corrupt College Republicans and special interests. I intend to run for National Chair to give College Republicans another choice. I am an independent voice who has no tie to any current players in the National Race.”

Doug hopes that state federations and club chapters across the nation will join him in his quest to revamp the College Republican name and restore the greatness of the CR’s to the days of Carl Rove. His website will be launched very shortly and he will begin to travel the country campaigning for National Chair.
