CR Vets For Truth: Right and Wrong

Written by Mark Harris on March 24th, 2005

I respect Brian and the guys over at CR Vets for Truth and agree with the original premise of his story that CRs should not be happy with what went down in Michigan. I and others, on the Davidson side, agree with that premise, but the execution leaves a bit to be desired.

I would like to know where the CR Vets are getting their information about Davidson operatives flipping the state chair, because I have seen no evidence to back up this claim. The hyperbole moreover only is going to create more division. Just my two cents over here, I woudl like to see some proof of these assertions CR Vets before we go any further.

They can’t prove it because it isn’t true. Name the Davidson operatives that did infultrated the state party and made it happen. It’s just more Hoplin/Gourley lies to help bolster a failing campaign. The should be ashamed.

Brian Mazanec is an idiot. Even ostriches don’t bury their head in the sand this much.

Could Gourley get ant more desperate? Mazanec want Davidson to come out against a state party chairman that recognized Gourley for the media disaster that he is. Unreal. Theses guys should just pack it up. Gourley is nothing more than a second rate candidate backed up by tyrannical Hoplin threats. That’s where the outrage should be directed. CR Vets for Trtuh has lost all credibility.

How can anyone blame the Michigan GOP for removing a leader not fit to serve? Cassin’s endorsement of Gourley proved that he lacked the judgement to represent republican youth politics in Michigan. The state party had no choice.

Aparrently the Gourley campaign said that it was Davidson who called Saul…they’re getting desparate.

How does that square with your views on government? There are some who legitimately believe that Gourley is the best candidate. There were some that believe that Kerry was the best candidate for President. No one’s subjective viewpoint gives them the right to disenfranchise someone. A Bush supporter would not have the right to remove a Kerry supporter from the voting rolls. Neither should a state chairman remove the duly elected leader of an autonomous organization

The College Republican National Committee outlined this provision, because they wanted to vest State Chairs the right and ability to recognize who is the rightful chairman. If you have a problem with this provision, move to ammend the constitution at the Convention this summer. I think that Davidson would be more than happy to address this issue legislatively when he is Chairman.

The “replacement chair” sam moore is in big with davidson and centinello. Sam’s right hand man matt golden is responsible for the change. At any time davidson could support the elected board and make this a non-issue, he has not.

Anon #9- Even if Davidson supported the old exec board, what power would he have to restore it? He can’t overrule Anuzis.

Davidson has no authority to support Cassin’s board. Davidson had nothing to do with his removal, you can blame his buddy the Lapel Pin for that. Why would Davidson come out against a decision that was 1.) th right decision for the party and the president and 2.) well within the authority of the state party. Cassin is out, end of argument.

Views on government have nothing to do with this. The Michigan GOP saw the bad press that Gourley has caused. They had a responsibility to dump Cassin. They should be applauded.

I don’t know why anyone would, they’re nothing but the mouthpiece for the Hoplin regime and there’s no doubt they’ve got some reward coming to them for this.

Cassin’s conspiracy theory ranks right up there with “Who killed Kennedy?”

No one woudl fire someone for supporting gourley unless they support davidson. No one would be picked to replace cassin unless the same problem would not be repeated. The new person supports davidson, so do the agitators, so does state party.

Shame on you Zeus. There’s actually a reason to suspect conspiracy in the case of Kennedy. Cassin is just up a creek.

I’ve heard that Eric Hoplin is calling people telling them that Davidson personally called Anuzis and told him to yank Cassin. He apparently yanked 2nd VC Kris Hart into his office, because Kris had been leaning towards Davidson. I think they were serving Kool Aid.

as a davidson supporter in MIchigan, i knew about this beforehand. I still support davidson, though his actions to overthrow cassin do make me a little nervous.

How does supporting Davidson translate into davidson being involved. The state party has declared that Davidson was no involved. There is no evidence that Davidson was involved. Cassin and Gourley want people to think that, but are they credible? Gourley lies to old people why wouldn’t he lie to you?
