CR Election… The End
Written by Mark Harris on April 5th, 2005I want first to thank everyone who has supported me in my run for Chairman of the GW CRs. I ran because I wanted to revive the club and get people active again and help to really bring the club around. I do not regret running, and I have no apologies.
That being said I want to quickly quash any rumors floating around, I lost fair and square. Jeff Holth will make a fine chairman and there was no grand conspiracy. Jeff ran a spirited race and deserves his support. I do not know the full machinations of the FEC but I have no doubt that after talking to people that their intentions were pure and that no wrong doing was had. We need to unite together behind the new CR EBoard and word to make all the changes we worked for come true. Just because I didn’t win doesn’t mean our hopes are over, no they are just begining.
My race was not one of right versus wrong, it was one of one vision of the CRs versus another. We can unite and achieve just as much, the race was not about me it was about a new future for the College Republicans I have no doubt that Jeff, Gary, Stephanie and others will carry forward the flag just as I have tried to do. This fight is not about me, it is about really changing the campus and making a difference.
I congratulate Jeff Holth on his success and I really have high hopes for next year and look forward to being involved.

I want to thank Mark for his comments on April 5th. I ran a comepletely fair election, and I would have done it no other way. I do want to way that Mark Harris was an excellent candidate, and we share many of the same visions regarding the GW CRs. The best thing that can happen to the GW CRs is for people liek Mark Harris to stay involved and speak their mine. The GR CRs is not about the E-Board….it is about the entire club. This should be in the back of everyone’s mind as we drive forward toward a great year. Again, Mark was a great candidate, and I have nothing but respect for him.
