Political Whores

Written by Mark Harris on April 8th, 2005

Wow, there is nothing more I have to say after this flurry of activity on both sides of the CRNC race than… the College Republicans are a total mess.

CR Vets For Truth… hatchet job. Nothing more can be said of this piece other than it shows how bad things are for everyone in the CRs. People really do decide who they vote on by who will give them the most, whether a spot on the ticket, block grants, etc. A lot of votes in this election will be decided by the CRs political hacktocracy.

In the end this race is about this bull and this terribly unethical ripoff scheme. I think Davidson has a good shot at this and is running neck and neck but if in the end Gourley wins then the CRs are more worthless and the leaders more souless than even I could imagine. Tis a dark day for our movement, common sense may still win but the power of the careerists and souless leaders who care not for ethics and morality is still very strong …

CLARIFICATION: I am sorry if this came across this way but I am not calling all Gourley supporters political whores, I am calling those that are deciding who to support on this race based on who gives them the best political perks as political whores. If you get perks because of your good support that’s one thing but if you give support to get perks that is political whorism.

You really think you are so above all this don’t you? The view must be pretty good up there from your pedestal. The moral relativism of you so called true conservatives is laughable. Do you honestly believe that you are in a position to judge anyone willing to compromise for the sake of his or her career, or is that a right reserved solely for you? Your decision to join up with David Copley after swearing him off in the PA primary was clearly political. Now that it is obvious that Davidson is finished you sink to the lowest and most predictable tactics of losers, calling the opponents whores. If the writers of this blog truly believe they represent the ethical standard in Republican politics I suggest they examine their own tactics. I haven’t seen anyone on the Gourley side call Michael Davidson soulless, but I forgot, only those at Save the GOP are familiar enough with both candidates on a personal level to decree such ruthless character attacks.

Win or lose I sleep well at night. I don’t claim to have some fantastic ethcial judgement. I just think that anyone who objectively looks at the facts in this race will see that Paul Gourley’s fundraising moves have made his morally inable to do the job.

Davidson is not perfect, and I will be the first to admit it, but he has fresh ideas and he hasn’t signed disingenous letters to scam seniors.

Oh and as far as David Copley goes, I have told others I disagree with the heavy handed tactics he used and am still a Toomey partisan. Just because we’re on the same side of this fight does not mean I have somehow sold out, in fact my support of Davidson probably cost me dearly in my own club, but I did it anyways. Cause well I sleep better at night

The Gourley people have said much worse about Davidson. That guy Shuberth (who is making a total ass of himself) is running aroun spouting all kinds of untruths at Hoplin/Gourley’s direction. As far as David Copley is concerned, don’t know much about his tenure in PA, but someone should ask him about what kind of a guy Hoplin is. He’s got a really interesting story about it.

There is so much slander said about Davidson, that is completely groundless. They call him gay, because he doesn’t throw stones at gay people.

Amen Alex. Ya’ll are the biggest group of cowards I have ever seen. Man up, start acting like you got a fucking pair. Put your real names behind your statements like Alex and Mark do. You can criticize them all you want, but in my book they are the only real men in this conversation because at least they have the stones to put their names on the line.

You are lucky most of you will spend your life in politics, in the business world (i.e. real world) you would be eaten alive in about three seconds with all of the Mickey Mouse shit you pull.

I agree with Alex, and Michael, but with a few less expletives.

Sorry. I am a firm believer in General Patton’s philosophy of “give it to ‘em loud and dirty, that way it’ll stick.”

If it comes off as uncouth, then my apologies.

No no, a good F-bomb is appropriate every now and then. I just figured I would save mine for another day.

soma An apt and true reply was given to Alexander the Great by a pirate who had been seized. For when that king had asked the man what he meant by keeping hostile possession of the sea, he answered with bold pride. ‘What thou meanest by seizing the whole earth; but because I do it with a petty ship, I am called a robber, whilst thou who dost it with a great fleet art styled emperor.
