D.C. Fed Endorses…

Saturday, April 9th, 2005

About an hour ago, the D.C. Fed officially endorsed Paul Gourley (by a “unanimous” vote). Interestingly, Kris Hart was present, who as you know endorses Davidson. A Gourley representative was also present.

Big 2006 Update

Saturday, April 9th, 2005

Tennesse Senate Race - Looks like the Republican primary will be the main event as Van Hilleary, Bryant, and Corker (RINO) face off the nomination. Capitol Hill rumours as noted in Politics1 and floating elsewhere say that Harold Ford Jrs elect numbers statewide are terrible making him a non-starter. If Ford doesn’t run then this is a safe GOP seat no matter who wins the GOP primary, though lets hope its Ven Hilleary or Bryant, as Corker is an uber-RINO. Sadly, though not unsurprisingly, Corker is the GOP establishment choice.

Pennsylvania Senate Race - The heavy weight fight Santorum v. Casey is set, and will be the #1 race in the country. Santorum is weak and the DNC knows it. That being said Casey is known to be a terrible campaigner and Rick is known to be quite a good one, so this race could go either way.

Rudy - Apparently it will be a no go in ‘06 for America’s Mayor. This is a major blow to the NY Republican Party which is now likely to lose the Governor’s seat and suffer another humiliating loss to Hillary Clinton. Rudy is raising money and visiting Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. All signs are a go for his presidential run, which is bad news for the GOP.

Sanford - South Carolina Governor and recent flava of the month for the movement conservatives has uneqiuvically ruled out a Presidential run in ‘08. A disappointment for this blogger.

JC Watts - Rumors has been around that he would likely run for Governor of Oklahoma, but he says he has no interest in any future elected office. Again, we shall see but another disappointment for this blogger.

Pat Toomey - Pat finally ruled out any interest in a Governor’s race in ‘06 or the more preposterous primary challenge to Rick Santorum (which he ruled out one day after losing to Specter.) That being said he has more or less let it be known that he’s running for the senate in 2010 or sooner if there is a special for Specter’s seat.

Hart Endorses, Other National Officers Considering

Saturday, April 9th, 2005

Kris Hart, 2nd National Vice-Chairman endorsed Davidson today and other national officers are supposedly leaning Davidson’s way. Moreover several big ticket southern states are rumored to be taking a decidedly pro-Davidson slant which could throw quite a few more delegates his way.

Note: More spin than a Andre Agassi serve: West Virginia “keeps Davidson alive”. I mean come on, an undecided state endorses Davidson and its suddenly a campaign disaster. This is reaching the level of CBS.
