Delegate Count & Gourley Campaign Moves

Tuesday, April 12th, 2005

Latest likely count
Gourley - 77
Davidson - 73
Undecided - 21

There obviously will be defectors on all sides, but as best as I can tell from the state by state reports this is the current breakdown. I can not release everything because a lot of this is trusted insider info, but I stand by it as good. Now I know VetsForTruth will post tommorow criticizing me about not “disclosing details”, losing elections, and daring to speak ill of the CRNC, but hey what else is new.

An End to Faith?

Tuesday, April 12th, 2005

Joe Sobran (former editor at National Review) writes on the attack on faith in America here. I thought this would tie in nicely with Mark’s post below.

Israel Shares Iranian Nuke Info

Tuesday, April 12th, 2005

From Drudge: Sharon and Bush talked about more than the tumbleweeds at the Bush Ranch. While denying that there is any plan to strike Iran the administration’s actions have not exactly helped to dispel rumors.

“Modernism is the synthesis of all heresies” - Pope Pius X

The following Washington Times article is a harrowing must read, but the more I’ve been invovled in politics and the more I’ve had exposure to folks like Ben Wetmore, the more I’ve realized that the great issues of our day are not taxes and economic issues though those are important. Rather it is the cultural decay we have allowed to happen.

We must stand, in the words of William F. Buckley, athwart of history yelling stop! For if we allow our values, religion, and culture to entirely become the souless “worship of the almighty dollar” (hat tip to B. Wetmore on that quote) then 0% taxes won’t solve our problems. Good economic policy is fantastic, but it means nothing if we have no moral grounding for society. New age religious beliefs, all roads lead to one God, outcomes based education, etc are all relativistic junk that has clogged the thoroughfares of our moral capacities. Now we are incapable of juding right from wrong and just from injust. We have wondered so far from our moral groundings in the Judeo-Christian West that one has to wonder how long it will be until even America is the moral waste land that Europe now is. According to the WT article fully 26% of American youths are a”non-religous”, this more than anything else should shake us to the core, for when a country loses its moral compass then it is not long before its utter downfall.

This is not something government can neccesarily fix, but it must be something that each of us take up in correcting the moral decay of our times. Its not a Republican-Democrat issue but it is certainly an issue of our very humanity.

Senators May Have Blown Cover of CIA Agent

Tuesday, April 12th, 2005

More proof that some of our “leaders” are incompetent and should have no business being involved with national security. Members of congress who do things like this should be reprimanded and barred from being on committees dealing with national security or defense.

Mr. Smith came to Washington again Monday, as an alias for a Central Intelligence Agency officer who works covertly. Senators, however, may have blown his cover.

During questioning on John R. Bolton’s nomination to be President Bush’s ambassador to the United Nations, Bolton and members of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee referred to “Mr. Smith” as one official among several who were involved in a dispute over what Democrats asserted was Bolton’s inappropriate treatment of an intelligence analyst who disagreed with him.

“We referred to this other analyst at the CIA, whom I’ll try and call Mr. Smith here, I hope I can keep that straight,” Bolton said at one point.

UPDATE: Michelle Malkin is reporting that there were previous media citations of the individual’s name. Which begs the question still however, why did Bolton insist on calling the individual ‘Mr. Smith’ unless he wanted the name kept secret?

Ok, who did the baseball poll?

Tuesday, April 12th, 2005

Why no Cubbies? The Red Sox broke their curse, why can’t we break ours? And where are the Braves? This is rank bias and I won’t stand for it!
