WI, NE Jump In

Written by Mark Harris on April 13th, 2005

Wisconsin’s executive board voted 9-3 to endorse Davidson and the out-going state chair of Nebraska endorsed Gourley. No word on if the delegates will carry over for Gourley with the incoming state chair. Over the next few days the race will probably solidify, but expect delegate defection at the convention.

Already word is trickling in of defections on both sides possible so even if someone bumps over the 86 mark in “endorsements” it is no guarantee of victory.

Mark, everyone knows that you were chairman of Students for Toomey. I think a lot of people, including myself, would be interested in reading more about the strategy and activites of your group during the primary. Others could then learn from your group and use what they learned to take out other RINOs in 06 like Snowe.

First off i’m just glad to have such a competitive race this year. This really shows what needs to be reformed and anything to make the Club stronger should be recieved with open arms.

however, i feel so memebers may become blind with our passions. As a former memeber of the California college Republicans I was real pleased with the Reform Davidson and Caldwell presented. however i was set back at the style of Davidson’s leadership style. Still, i still have question for Davidson.

    1. Generally speaking, why is it that being one of the weathy chapters of theCRNC, why is it that so many chapter recieved no money or supplies the two years as chairman?

    2. How can davidson best lead us since he has been out of college for 2 years? 3 if he is elected chairman.

But, that doesnt leave Gourly from the fire. As treasurer you are put under a mikcroscope and if actions and statements of the RDI incident did occur, answers and probably an investigation should be sought.

However, We have to remember we are all Republicans

CRNC Truth Caucus is dead wrong about Gourley going to YLS - the LI is doing everything they can to stay out of this Davidson/Gourley nonsense. Rumor has it an LI field rep went up to the CRNC booth at CPAC and asked them what they were doing there - they have such contempt for the organization, I can’t see why they would care which goofball lands in the chairmanship.

Morton Blackwell loves the College Republicans. 3 of the last 4 leaders of CLP have come from the CRNC (Parker Hamilton, Scott Stewart, and Erin Krueger).

And LI loves to be involved in CR politics. They have always dabbled in it.

    Conservatively Yours

LI and the CRNC have long worked side-by-side–as should any good conservative-based youth organizations. It IS, I believe, important to note that LI does not pay lectors of its YLS schools–or their travel fees. I presented at a YLS school last summer–lectors do it for the good of increasing grassroots-based youth leadership skills–not for money or frivolous travel.

I can independently verify the rumor that Gourley is going to the Leadership Institute at Princeton. He is scheduled to speak. I doubt he’s being paid, but why does that matter?
