Now We’re Talking
Written by Andrew on April 16th, 2005Finally, somebody gets it. Is George W. watching?
To diffuse the chattering classes:
1.) No, I don’t believe President Bush has the constitutitional authority to do this. I do know some folks who do, or could at least impeach seven of them. Unfortunately, they haven’t got the stones.
2.) I have never been to Ecuador, and know nothing about the political situation there. This post is not an endorsement of Pres. Gutierrez, who may be a thug, or his actions, which may be senseless and unjust.

Lucio Gutierrez is a tin-pot el presidente who is on his way out. He should be. His country is flush with cash from oil revenues and the people are still poor as dirt. Like almost every Latin American country corruption is at the heart of the issue.
As for impeaching justices of the Supreme Court I am in favor of that, but you would have to impeach all five who voted with Kennedy recently by citing “international opinion” and “changing social norms”. I think we will have to try a different tactic, similar to what Pat Buchanan suggested in my post earlier.

Hi, just surfed in. I enjoyed looking around your web site. This site has been very useful to me so far and I have barely scrathed the surface of it.
