NC Delegates Endorse Gourley, Chaos Ensues

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

In what has to be one of the most ammusing and idiotic moves of the campaign the three North Carolina delegates endorsed Gourley in a public letter (after heavy leaning from HoplinCo and their lackey Rep. McHenry). Well now absolutely chaos apparently has broken out on the ground.

This stuff keeps getting more insane, had these three folks just kept their mouth shut they could’ve cast votes for Gourley with little the Davidson NC people could do, but now all three delegates are likely to get axed. Huge campaign blunder on the part of the Gourley folks and to be fair a rather amusing sign of the absolutely insanity of this race on both sides.

RINO Huntin’

For those of you blessed enough to know Melinda Haring of Toomey campaign fame, she followed that disappointing loss to go to Alaska to help a guy named Mike Miller run against Lisa Murkowski for Senator. Sadly Miller lost badly due to a lack of funds and the usual scare campaign that if the party doesn’t pick the moderate it will lose the seat. Oh well surprise of surprises, now Ms. Murkowski is looking to possibly oppose Bolton. She has a safe seat (she beat the strongest Dem that could have even concievable put forward by several points) and she is still moving to the left.

Well folks, time to lite up her office:

Lisa Murkowski
Washington, D.C. Office
709 Hart Senate Building
Washington D.C., 20510
202-224-6665
Fax 202-224-5301

Also… we need to find someone to run against her in 2010. I am now innaugurating the Save The GOP RINO Watch List…

1. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (RINO-AK)

Kos Idiocy

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

It’s been a while since we’ve had one of these, be forewarned that there is naughty language, which I prefer not to partake in, but more “South Park” inclined readers may have less of a problem with. I got the link from Mark Shea, who can consider himself hat-tipped.

On an unrelated note, I saw a headline on Yahoo! proclaiming that Bush had cancelled Earth Day! Then I read the last word, he just cancelled his trip to the Smoky Mountains to commemorate Earth Day. Oh well, there’s always next year. I’m actually as green as they come in many ways, but people who celebrate this need a history lesson.

The Great White North is in Meltdown

Saddam Hussein invested a million dollars in the Prime Minister of Canuckistan’s company, Cordex. The Canada Free Press is all over it. Now we know why Canada was so opposed to the war. This is getting out of control. It appears that the UN, Russia, France, Germany, Belgium, and now Canada were all bought and sold by Saddam.

All of these nations were opposed to the liberation of Iraq and its 300,000 bodies stuffed into mass graves. No blood for oil, is that irony or just a sick joke?

Confirm Bolton

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

Sometimes the battles choose us. The Bolton confirmation is the fight that will determine a host of others on Capital Hill. The political fallout will be devastating for conservatives if the likes of George Voinovich can shut down Bolton. Realizing this, Redstate has set up a new website with a host of formidable conservative personalities dedicated solely to confirming Bolton. Check out Confirm Bolton, it is your prime source for John Bolton info. Another great source is the Beltway Buzz written by Eric Pfeiffer over at NRO. This is a rich source of DC political news.

Why I love college

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

I haven’t posted in a while, so I guess I’ll start with this random rant.

Yesterday morning I was sitting in my Arabic class when my professor told us that we could talk about anything we wanted in Arabic. A classmate of mine, a prolife Democrat, started saying how he didn’t like the new Pope because he was conservative. I responded by saying the only reason he didn’t like the pope was becaue the New York Times had brainwashed him and that the New York Times hates the pope because it hates Catholics.

After that comment, the rest of the class couldn’t control itself. One girl responded by saying that Fox News hates Muslims. My teacher said that Fox News is as radical as al-Jazeera. Then everyone continued to mock the “Nazi” pope and talked about how he supported the “cult” of Opus Dei (which of course they had all learned about in The DaVinci Code).

Gooooo…

Overnight News Roundup

Britney Spears, plagiarist? Link comes from the always happily non-political Victor Lams.

The New York Times (Reg Req’d) is “reporting” that the National Council of Churches Nobody Goes To Anymore thinks it’s just fine for Senator Schumer et alia to scuttle Christians nominated to the federal bench, in fact they think it should be encouraged. These men and women are simply the wrong sort of believers, you know. They actually might believe! I rarely like to cite inherent bias, but I think the NCC is taking this position mostly because many of these nominees are Catholics, and the NCC (and their KGB infiltrated parent, the WCC) has always had it in for Rome.

Pope Benedict XVI apparently not to be covered totally as a Nazi by the media, though that stream of thought is catching on across the pond.
