NC Delegates Endorse Gourley, Chaos Ensues

Written by Mark Harris on April 22nd, 2005

In what has to be one of the most ammusing and idiotic moves of the campaign the three North Carolina delegates endorsed Gourley in a public letter (after heavy leaning from HoplinCo and their lackey Rep. McHenry). Well now absolutely chaos apparently has broken out on the ground.

This stuff keeps getting more insane, had these three folks just kept their mouth shut they could’ve cast votes for Gourley with little the Davidson NC people could do, but now all three delegates are likely to get axed. Huge campaign blunder on the part of the Gourley folks and to be fair a rather amusing sign of the absolutely insanity of this race on both sides.

Does anyone know if these three delegates were elected or appointed, or what?

I like how you all pre-emptively accused the Gourley campaign of trying to spin the Mississippi turnaround but yet you all do the exact same thing with North Carolina.

Mark, does Rep. McHenry actually care who the hell gets elected CR chair? That’s a scary thought, doesn’t he have federal spending to cut?

Yes Rep. McHenry sent 6 paid employees to lobby. Edward, you would be right if what we were saying wasn’t true, but all three delegates are likely to be replaced with three pro-Davidson delegates.

the delegates were not elected or appointed. the chair tripp costas in efforts not to get pressured anymore, asked another CR to take over the delegation process. however, without checking with costas or with any other exec member that cr picked 3 delegates that ironically all worked for mchenry. this wont stand very long

McHenry won his primary by less than 90 votes. It’s conceivable that his primary opponent would run against him.

Who was the CR that took over the delegate selection? Were they on McHenry’s payroll too?

McHenry is an unethical, moral sleazeball pressuring college kids the way he is. Funny, he and Gourley fit perfectly.

The CR was Jason Kyzer the IT guy for McHenry’s campaign. He is still on the payroll. And the 2 other delegates he chose were on his campaign too.
