Lynn Swann for Governor Release Video

Written by Mark Harris on April 30th, 2005

Check it out here.

Swann has not officially annouinced but its pretty much assumed at this point by everyone that he is going to run against Ed Rendell for Governor of Pennsylvania in ‘06. He is running againse State Sen. Jeff Piccola (RINO) and former Lt. Governor Bill Scranton. Swann, in my oppinion, is the only once who has a shot of winning.

You are right though that Lynn Swann would have the best chance. He could likely siphon off a good portion of the black vote from Rendell and might get the NFL fans to come out and vote for him (as odd as that sounds). We had Jesse Ventura as our governor (I’m not trying to compare him to Swann) and what we learned from him is that celebrity candidates have the ability, more so than other types of candidates, to turn out voters who don’t usually vote. The difference though between that race and this one (among other notable differences) is that this is not an open seat like it was in MN in 1998.

I think Rendell is beatable when the mob connections come out. Is Swann a conservative? Conservatives have a habit of getting screwed over in PA politics lately.

Mob connections? Is this the Philly mob, because if it is, that is bad news, they are probably the most powerful and “intact” family left in America.
