Delay Tokes

Have to give a hat-tip to the local zoo….errr….Democrat Underground for this pic. What’s the deal, did Messrs Delay and Abramoff, play it a little fast and loose with the trade embargo? I’m not a brandophilist, so I’m not entirely certain it’s Cuban, but the DU folks are flipping their wigs.

Something that couldn’t be any more unrelated: I really don’t know how I feel about this, though this is sort of cool. I smell celebrity NRA endorsements.

Brady Taking The Leap?

Monday, May 2nd, 2005

An AP story running today details how Tom Brady, famed quarterback of the New England Patriots seems to be keeping the door open for politics once he retires, which will likely still be awhile as he is only 27. Brady was seen in several appearances with President Bush and was even going to stump for the President before the New England Patriots owner, beholden to the Dems stepped in.

“Whatever I’ve chosen to do in my athletic career and hopefully in my post-athletic career, I’m going to want to inspire people to do more, to encourage them to be better people, to be better Americans, to be better representatives of this great country that we live in.”

Not sure how conservative he is, but if he’s solid maybe he’d run for Teddy’s Senate seat at some point. Could the Democratic state of Taxachussets say no to Senator Brady (the football player not the gun grabber).

NOTE: Lynn Swann in Pennsylvania, JC Watts, Tom Osborne, Jack Kemp, Jim Bunning… versus Bill Bradley. In the war of sports heroes its a handsdown win for the GOP.

Believe in Miracles?

Neat story out of the UK. I have spent time in a monastary, and it is a truly amazing, holy experience. This might just save the Church.
