PB is pretty much defunct, but I used it as a place to highlight Democrats who don’t just roll over and play dead. While I know Barbara Boxer isn’t the most popular among Conservatives, at least she was the first of the Democrats after the election to stand up in any real way for the things that we felt were important.
And so, I used that example, and that blog, as a way to highlight when Democrats show backbone, something that is often in short supply.

You think the Democrats have a backbone problem? Jeepers.
That’s not scary. (A serious) Boxer 2008 would make for a very enjoyable Democratic primary with as much division as the GOP will be facing. Boxer voted against the Iraq war resolution that Hillary supported, which has sent a lot of her progressive followers looking for someone else to cling to, a shift which is being even more intensified as we move into 2006 and Hillary undergoes further “red shift” with pragmatic overtures to the prolife movement, et al.
I think Boxer would be interesting for the national discussion, but couldn’t overcome the pressure of her “radical” image under the national spotlight.

That’s really funny, on many levels. Please tell me that they sell boxers, too.
