NMFCR ChairmanChairman Darnell:
We, the undersigned Chairmen of our respective College Republican chapters and College Republican officers, do hereby call for your immediate resignation as NMFCR Chairman. We do not take this request lightly, as we feel that for the following reasons you have misrepresented the NMFCR and the Republican Party’s traditions and values over the last two years.
- During 2004, you failed to call any executive board meetings or a state convention violating Article 6 Section 1 in the NMFCR Constitution.
- Although you are a member of the CRNC credentialing committee, you failed to turn in our credentialing information by March 1, 2005. This negligence landed the NMFCR with only two votes at the CRNC national convention this summer. This move also may cost us our two votes as determined by the credentialing committee on May 31, 2005 in which the committee will review our status compared to Article 5 Section 9 of the CRNC Constitution, which reads:
“Section Nine. [Documentation of eligibility] To be eligible for delegate votes (other than a delegate vote that may be cast by a CRNC national officer), a state federation must submit the following documentation to the designated auditing firm by certified or registered mail, postmarked no later than March 1 of the year of the Biennial Convention…”
- On April 2, 2005 you called an unconstitutional Executive Board meeting to vote on a candidate for CRNC Chairman, in which you allowed two chapter chairs to vote and did not allow adequate time for the meeting. This action also broke rules in several parts of Article 6 Section 1 in the NMFCR constitution.
- As NMFCR Chairman, you have failed to uphold your duties as stated in Article 3 Section 2. There are many subsections of Section 2 where you have fallen short or totally neglected your duties (especially subsections D and E).
- On April 14, 2005 you made the call for the NMFCR State Convention to be held on May 13, 2005. This decision was in direct violation of Article 6 Section 6 of the NMFCR constitution which states “Notice of the date, time, and location of the State Convention shall be given no less than eight weeks prior to the meeting”.
- During the month of April 2005, on at least two occasions, you approved of the unconstitutional action of UNMCR Chairwoman Phara Forsythe to cancel the UNMCR elections and reschedule them for the fall of 2005. This is in direct violation of Article 3 Section 2 of the UNMCR constitution which states “all officers shall be elected at a regular CR meeting between April 1 and April 30 of each year, to be announced in writing to all members not less than two weeks in advance”.
- When calling for the NMFCR convention on April 14, 2005, you failed to let NMFCR Executive Director Bob Cornelius take his rightful spot as head of the credentials committee as stated in Article 7 Section 2 Subsections A and C. This action led to other violations by you and NMFCR Secretary Chris Atencio on May 3, 2005 when you both failed to delegate the right amount of votes to any College Republican chapter in the state as mentioned in Article 7 Sections 2-6.
We have listed here at least eight times in just the past year that you have refused to go by the governing document of our organization. Your consistent disregard of the NMFCR constitution leaves us no choice but to ask you to resign your position as NMFCR Chairman. You, or any member of the NMFCR Executive Board, have no right to make up rules as you go.
How can we as Republicans denounce activist judges, while allowing you and others in leadership positions to fail to follow an 8 page constitution? Our credibility as an organization has been diminished greatly, and we would like for you to resign now, while you still have the chance to resign with some dignity. We hope that you take this request seriously, and resign your office immediately.
Thank you,
ENMUCR Chairman Robert Seyller
CRCSW Chairman Dusty Marshall
CRNMJC Chairman Nathan Miles
I feel like we’re dealing with total collapse of the Republic right about now… and there’s no Jedi Knights left to fight for us.

If the CRNC won’t step up, its about damn time the chapters regulate their own affairs.

Amen!

Mark, why save the Republic? Didn’t it elect Palpatine, knowning his thirst for power? The Old Republic brought the Empire upon its own head and that is what made them value the New Republic with such passion. Let the CRNC die, and allow a new body to rise from the ashes.

I think we can do better than Star Wars quotes…

And just what is wrong with Star Wars?
Did you perhaps fail to understand the analogy? I can explain it for you if you like.

Use Roman analogies. It sounds more academic and has a heck of a lot more depth than George Lucas. Caligula might be a good one to compare with. You know, corrupt, over indulgent…
and besides, Caligula’s voice was high pitched too…

hahahaha
would Paul be his horse?

Using analogies from Roman history makes us sound like LewRockwell.com, and nobody wants that….

Star Wars and Rome aside there has been no end to the blatant disregard for the constitution and democracy here in the land of enchantment. Scott’s power plays have jeopardized the very fabric of the Conservative movement here in N.M. and it was only a matter of time until the chapters revolted against his self serving interests.
