That’s Mother of All Star Wars Posts. Not politically related (sort of) but I thought we could use a space in the comments section to hash out feelings on the movie.

Spoilers allowed, so if you read please don’t whine.

High School bans Military Recruiters

Wednesday, May 18th, 2005

This new story really fired me up. I will have words with anyone who attacks the men or women who sacrifice their lives for my freedom. To avoid communicating how I really feel (which is too violent to be posted here), I will just share a few quotes and that should explain what I am talking about.

“Planned Parenthood, as far as I know, does not advocate or perform illegal acts. The US military does,” Mr. Ludwig continued. The soft-spoken carpenter said he would not object if Army representatives came to Garfield to debate their ideas on torture or aggressive war. “What I object to is their coming here to recruit students to perform those acts,” he said. “It’s not about free speech.”

“They’re spending $4 billion a month in Iraq, but we have to cut our race relations class, which costs $12,500,” Ms. Hagopian pointed out. “That’s an important class for our kids.”

There are a growing number of people who are too stupid to differentiate between good and evil. The US military is helping to rebuild schools, hospitals and orphanages in Iraq. Serving in the military is an honorable thing and should be treated as such. President Reagan said that “Liberty is always but one generation away from extinction.” It is up to us to defend our liberty abroad and win the war of ideas here at home against all the stupid people who think freedom is free.
