Watch the Implosion

Saturday, May 21st, 2005

Want to watch the implosion of an internet giant? Checkout the chaos over at MeetUp.com. They have instituted a $19 fee for “organizers” of the event. This has set out near chaos at what once seemed like a fantastic operation. TownHall.com is leaving MeetUp and many events have been cancelled due to the new fees. I really think this move will go down as one of the stupidest business decisions ever, because now everyone will be going elsewhere and the market for another free MeetUP like system will explode.

Get your popcorn should be a fun show.

More on the abort the troops Mike Crook

Saturday, May 21st, 2005

The appropriately named, Mike Crook, runs this idiotic website (Warning may be offensive to those with loved ones overseas).
From his “Forsake the Troops Site”

Our underlying problem is this: the military is a lifestyle these morons chose. What idiot risks their life for a country? It’s what they chose. Hopefully, they knew in their hearts this is abusing taxpayers’ money, and they enlisted anyway. So…Forsake our Troops! Let ‘em die in combat– we don’t need their ilk in this country!

U.S. Soldier= Poster child for retroactive abortion

The irony in this is that these men die so that Crook boy can write this filth, sadly I doubt he’ll ever realize that. The good thing is that he was on Hannity & Colmes and was absolutely eviscerated by both of them (Colmes is a good guy, just a bit misguided). The more the media puts these kind of idiots on TV the more conservatives gain. I hope he realizes his antics help get pro-military people elected, ironic twist of fate, ain’t it.

UPDATE: Actually Crook is no liberal by any stretch of the imagination I wound describe him more as an anarchist/libertine. Everyone do what’s best for themselves and screw everyone elese, basically a type of sociopath.

NARAL Endorses Chafee for His Re-Elect

Saturday, May 21st, 2005

Sen. Lincoln Chafee (RINO-RI) was endorsed by the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) (with the new very Orwellian name, Pro-Choice America). For those of you who haven’t been following the race, conservative Republican mayor of Cranston Stephen Laffey is considering primarying Chafee.

Club for Growth Executive Director noted:

David Keating, executive director of the Club for Growth, a conservative organization that has bankrolled races against moderate Republicans, said the Chafee race “is definitely on our radar.”

Keating’s group has not formally studied Laffey’s record or backed any candidate, but he said Laffey seems in-line with his organization.

“From what we’ve heard . . . he’s willing to take on wasteful, entrenched interests that really have no concern for the local taxpayer,” Keating said.

Now of course the debate is not if Laffey would be better than Chafee, he most certainly would, but rather could Laffey win a general election in Rhode Island. A few months ago I would have said no way, BUT the Democrats have failed to recruit a strong challenger into the race with both Congressmen bowing out of the race. (Supposedly pro-life Democrat Jim Langevin wanted the spot but the DSCC said “one pro-life candidate in a cycle - referring to Casey in PA - is enough”). This may just open the spot wide enough for Laffey to slip through, we’ll see.

Must be in the water….

He claims to be from Syracuse, but the local paper reports that Michael Crook is somewhat of an enigma. Apparently this cretin was on Hannity and Colmes last night, where he advocated “retroactive abortions” for American soldiers.

Someone should throw him in the lake.
