Positive Proposals

Saturday, June 25th, 2005

In the light of my negative, yet I believe 101% accurate comments, I also want to say some real positive ideas and would like others to also propose some:

1. Expanded State Assistance: Working with state chapters to achieve indepdence in fiscal and legal sense. Each state chapter should be helped in developing their legal standing, opening a bank account, raising money, maintaining a house list, etc. I think this is somewhere the Krank could make a huge difference. I know they get some training now but actual assistance during the year and further aid coudl be immensely helpful.

2. Focus on campus activism: I know I may be in the minority on this point but I don’t think the CRs are just slaves for Republican candidates. I think there is often a tendancy within the organization to ignore the other activism aspects and this needs to end. We need to spend more time building future republicans on campus through making students aware of how the conservative agenda benefits them. For example next National Convention why don’t we have small breakout sessions where students can network and exchange ideas about events to have.

3. Membership management: I think both candidates promised this but it can not be understated. The CRNC needs a national membership database, though obviously with tight restrictions. (ie: They can’t sell that list to ANYONE, EVER).

Those are just a few… keep the powder dry folks and shoot away at other positive ideas for the Gourley administration.

Disappointment Turns To Anger

Saturday, June 25th, 2005

Well today the CRs confirmed what I believe many of us secretly feared: ethics don’t mean anything and the CRNC is still a joke. I first want to say that any talk of secession is nonsense, and hsould be discouraged. Second we should work with the new administration to advance the programs & policies we believe in, but we should not kid ourselves about the ethical integrity present in the new administration.

Let us recall that this election changes exactly NONE of the following:
1. The CRNC is basically broke
2. The CRNC filed its IRS report over a year late
3. The CRNC sent out inhouse and RDI letters that used deceptive at best fraudelent at worst selling techniques.

and the big whooper from the convention

4. Someone forged the signature of a state chair to replace pro-Davidson delegates with pro-Gourley delegates.

I think there were good pro-Gourley folks (for example I believe DC State Chair Mike Inganamort to be a very good guy and a solid CR) and we can work with these folks and should work with the CRNC, but keep in mind the CRNC is a joke and not trust the CRNC establishment as far as we can throw them.

Also let us not forget two people who should quickly be tossed out
1. The new Virginia state chair - she should be gone and quick for her delegate swapp
2. Patrick McHenry’s disgusting meddling in CR politics should be rewarded with a quick kick out of office in ‘06, though I know it won’t happen, but we can all hope. Any politician who will threaten and cajole CRs obviously is lacking in the morality department, but I guess when you owe your election to an unconstitutional use of field reps then you owe HoplinCo everything.

Gourley campaign falsified delegate sheet for Mo

Gourley campaign forged signature of Missouri delegation. Chaos on the floor as Davidson announces it. A massive protest is erupting… Developing…

Day One Recap

Saturday, June 25th, 2005

Davidson, Davidson, Davidson. The underdog coming in appears to have made up tremendous ground as Gourley has scrambled to remove pro-Davidson delegates in Illinois, Virginia, and Missouri. (Big surprise). Its stimm going to be a squeaker and there can be little doubt that Davidson is still the underdog.

Talking to two different high placed sources in the campaign they both stated that they expect a victory and are seeing a large momentum shift towards Davidson, keep in mind these are obviously biased sources, but at this point I am not sure how much reason they would have to lie. Gourley operatives were seen frantically scurrying about after what can only be described as a disaster of a debate.

I am going to try to blog from the floor through my cell phone or a Blackberry so keep it tuned to Save The GOP for updates throughout the day tommorow on how things are going.
