Another Reason to Like Roberts

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2005

Here is more evidence that Roberts will be a defender of state’s rights. In this confirmation process, we are going to see a battle of ideologies over what the government’s role should be . The report cites Roberts ruling in a case where he suggested “that federal power is limited, urging the court to reconsider its decision restricting a San Diego area construction project because it encroached on the habitat of the rare arroyo southwestern toad.” Roberts suggested that “a hapless toad that, for reasons of its own, lives its entire life” in one state could be regulated by the federal government.” I am starting to like this guy more and more. We still have a lot to learn, but I like what I have seen so far.

A Peak at ‘06

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2005

Check out this page for results on today’s race in Ohio’s 2nd Congressional district. If the Dems break 40% then ‘06 will be a fight, if they break 45%, ‘06 is gonna be just ugly, and if this guy wins then we’re in for a ‘94 landslide the other way…

UPDATE:
Hackett, the D, won the absentees 51%-49%… bad, bad, bad sign.
PREDICTION 9:17PM: Schmidt Wins by 1% as rural areas come in she’s been seriously narrowing the gap, but this was wayyyy too close.
