Hail to the Redskins
Written by Stephen on December 18th, 2005It’s a good year for Save the GOP bloggers: Alex’s Chisox swept the Series, and my beloved Redskins have swept Dallas. With Gibbs, the ‘Skins are back!
Hail to the Redskins!
Hail Victory!
Braves on the Warpath!
Fight for old D.C.!
Run or pass and score — we want a lot more!
Beat ‘em, Swamp ‘em,
Touchdown! — Let the points soar!
Fight on, fight on ‘Til you have won
Sons of Wash-ing-ton. Rah!, Rah!, Rah!
Hail to the Redskins!
Hail Victory!
Braves on the Warpath!
Fight for old D.C.!

You don’t have to rub it in! We Dallas Cowboy fans are suffering enough from watching the game. I’ve never seen a quarterback get sacked or knocked down as many times as Bledsoe did today. Congrats to you Redskin fans, but lay off the Cowboys!!!!

The Redskins, the last NFL team to integrate, had different lyrics for their fight song. Instead of “DC,” the song used to say “fight for old Dixie”. That was used until the 70s, I believe.
And Dan Snyder is a jerk.

the redskins are a good team, but I can’t help but feel the name of the team should be changed. I do agree that some native american groups have taken the names of sports taeams to far like going after the illinni and seminoles or indians. but the redskins yeah I can understand native american groups being offended.

It appears that more than 90% of Native Americans don’t have a problem with the name. My guess is they’re 1) unoffended, and 2) have bigger concerns, like the rampant alcohol and drug abuse and other health concerns.

I tend to agree with Stephen. We have to stop this rediculous business of trying to be “politically correct” to the point of absolute nausia.
Some people will be offended no matter what is done. Mostly it lies in our own estimation of our own self worth as to whether
we want to be offended or not by what others call us.
I’m personally offended by any and all so-called “hypenated-Americans” as we are supposed to be the melting pot of the world, and leave all of the ethnic BS at Ellis island when we raise our hand to the square and make this land our own
I’ve never felt the least offended when someone called me “Whitey” or “Honkey” … because it all depends on how you recieve what has been said to you in conjunction with how you feel about yourself. If I were ashamed of being white, it would be offensive … but I’m not …
I’t just my opinion, but maybe it wouldn’t hurt if others took equal pride in their own heritage, be they red, white, black or some shade inbetween.
Anything else is just either letting someone get under your skin (no pun intended) or taking advantage of a situation where you can choose to be nasty to someone who has mentioned some aspect of your physical makeup in thier conversation.
I would far rather be identified as “the white guy over by the punch bowl” than “that fat mother with the glass in his hand.”
Hey … Redskins forever … don’t like it … lump it
