A Lost Cause?

Thursday, June 1st, 2006

Let’s face it. America is perhaps less than a decade away from formally recognizing gay marriage. A well financed cohort of leftists have succeeded in this country in framing a debate in which the lines of true marriage are muddied through the use of terms like ‘fairness’ and ‘equal rights.’ This article highlights ‘ the slow step toward reality of this leftist dream. And those intent on changing “traditional views of sexuality” just won yet another allie as DC Comics seeks to reinvent Batwoman as a “Lipstick Lesbian.” A seemingly minor move which serves to desensitize our youth to issues once reserved for adult conversation.

The culture war wages on it seems. One can only hope our allies inside the Beltway get a stomach for this sooner rather than later, though it seems it may be too late.

Man of Steele?

Thursday, June 1st, 2006

Interesting column from the great Bob Novak. Michael Steele is making an historic run for the Senate in Maryland, and things are looking up. It’s a long time until November, but I think this will be a race worth watching.

Spencer Gets Convention Nod

Thursday, June 1st, 2006

Hillary Clinton never should have been allowed to win in New York in 2000, but she did and we have to live with the consequences. Unfortunately there isn’t a great deal to do about it, and there’s almost no possibility she will be beaten in November. There is good news, however. John Spencer, the conservative candidate for the GOP nomination, won the support of the state GOP convention. Here’s the story.

I don’t think that Spencer can win, but it looks like he’s just the sort of person that will actually take Hillary on rather than playing the Jeannine Pirro “me too!” game.
