I live in Texas and last year the Political Independents Club at my school got his campaign manager to come give a talk during lunch. It was pretty interesting. I think he is more of a moderate then a liberal. Its tempting to vote for him anyway just to spite the two party system.

I am also a Texan and have met Kinky Friedman. If anything he’s a Libertarian. He wants government out of everything, which leads him to his drug legalization stance.
The real show will be if there are any televised debates. He has more one-liners than anyone I know. This campaign is turning out to be really interesting. Kinky is currently polling second, just 14 points behind Gov. Rick Perry.

Actually, the guy sounds kind of like a big lib, but if I lived in Texas I would maybe have to vote for him just because his name is Kinky.

Well, his Web site advocates spending more money on public education and health care, which is why I pegged him to be somewhat left of center.

Yep, gotta love that state. It doesn’t take itself too seriously. And it doesn’t have to ’cause it’s untouchable. Don’t mess with Texas!
