What Do Y’all Think Of This Guy?

Written by YellowJacket on February 28th, 2007

First of all, I think that’s the first blog headline I’ve ever seen with the word “y’all” in it, and I’m happy to supply it.

Second of all, I had yet to notice Jim Gilmore’s campaign site before this morning.  What do y’all think of him?  Could he be a conservative dark-horse candidate?

As a resident of Virginia, I can attest that Gilmore was no good as our governor and could not win re-election if he ran again. He didn’t do a good job as RNC chairman either, and certainly won’t go anywhere in the primary.

I’m not sure if he’s attesting as a Virginia resident or as the head of Students for Brownback. He’s also a student at a Catholic university in Ohio, although apparently is originally from Virginia.

I’m also a resident of Virginia, and Gilmore remains popular in both conservative and Republican circles. He gets a lot of credit for holding the line on taxes and also for his work on national security issues during and since his tenure as governor.

I keep trying to post without any success, so hopefully this won’t appear three times.

I’m not sure if bvalentine is attesting as a Virginia resident, or as the head of Students for Brownback. He also goes to a Catholic college in Ohio, although is apparently originally from VA.

I’m also a resident of Virginia, and Gilmore remains well-liked in Republican and conservative circles. He is regarded as having a consistent conservative record.

Also, don’t know if you saw, but yesterday Gilmore announced that if elected, he would establish an official White House blog, to quickly disseminate and update information, which I think is a great idea.

After Bush so thoroughly destroyed the faith of the American people (and the world) in the oval office, I agree that we need someone with new ideas and a new approach. A white house blog, however, is just about the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Are we electing a nerdy 25 year old, or a respectable leader?

That is probably the best comment made on this ‘blog in at least three months.
