The Nation of Churchill?

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

The British are embarrassing me as of late.  Not only does it seem that their sailors and marines made no attempt to fight or escape the Iranians, but the British Government has been acting in the mold of Chamberlin in response to the crisis.  I have not heard even a mention of the use of force as an option from the Government.  England’s dereliction of duty and complete disregard for their own defenses, while kowtowing to political correctness is a slap in the face to all the men and women who sacrificed everything for their country.  While they go back and forth on whether or not their fellow countrymen held captive should be referred to as “hostages,” or some other politically correct term, the Iranians are laughing all the way to the bank.  The Iranians are scoring major points in their region by showing they can thumb their nose and push the Brits around without consequence if they want.  This is not going unnoticed by the moderate Muslim states, which have in the past aligned with the US and the Brits.  No one wants to friends with losers, which is what the Brits look like right now.  Reagan or Churchill in the same situation would have the nation’s entire fleet steaming at full speed for the Persian Gulf.

Things are not any better on the domestic side either, Rush mentioned today that British schools are no longer going to teach about the Holocaust to avoid offending Muslim children who are being taught differently in their mosques.  What the Hell are they thinking?  Churchill would be rolling over in his grave.  How can they so easily forget their own history?  I am completely dumfounded……

New Rasmussen Poll

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

4/3/2007

Giuliani - 26% (-9%)
McCain - 16% (+1%)
F. Thompson - 14% (n/a)
Gingrich - 11% (unch)
Mitt Romney - 8% (unch)
Huckabee - 3%
No one else breaks 1%

Cross tab - Self-identified “Very Conservative” Voters

Giuliani - 20%
F. Thompson - 19%
Gingrich - 18%
McCain - 14%

Interesting tidbits…

  • Thompson jumps into third place ahead of Romney and Gingrich which mirrors the Gallup results
  • Thompson’s support in this poll come almost entirely out of Giuliani’s base
  • Romney and Gingrich who other polls showed loss of support with Thompson in the race shows no changes
  • Giuliani’s 20% draw among very conservative voters is indicative of his “soft” support which could evaporate if Thompson, Gingrich, or McCain could ever peel off those voters

After a scheduled C-section yesterday afternoon, I am a father. Carson Paul weighs 11lbs 7oz. and is 22 1/4 inches long. Hence the reason for the C-section. Mother and baby are doing great and I am one proud father.
