Democrats Denying War on Terror
Written by Sam on April 4th, 2007It’s bad enough that you have radical leftists out there who deny the Holocaust. Now we have left wing Congressmen denying today’s Global War on Terror.
The House Armed Services Committee is banishing the global war on terror from the 2008 defense budget.
This is not because the war has been won, lost or even called off, but because the committee’s Democratic leadership doesn’t like the phrase.
A memo for the committee staff, circulated March 27, says the 2008 bill and its accompanying explanatory report that will set defense policy should be specific about military operations and “avoid using colloquialisms.”
The “global war on terror,” a phrase first used by President Bush shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the U.S., should not be used, according to the memo. Also banned is the phrase the “long war,” which military officials began using last year as a way of acknowledging that military operations against terrorist states and organizations would not be wrapped up in a few years.
Committee staff members are told in the memo to use specific references to specific operations instead of the Bush administration’s catch phrases. The memo, written by Staff Director Erin Conaton, provides examples of acceptable phrases, such as “the war in Iraq,” the “war in Afghanistan, “operations in the Horn of Africa” or “ongoing military operations throughout the world.”
It just astonishes me the way liberals will construct their own little fantasy world to live in. I guess if we don’t say there is a War on Terror we will all just forget about the threat of Islamic Fascism and it will go away by itself. I can’t imagine what else their motivation would be. I liked Neal Boortz’s response to this, though:
You listeners will note that I, too, have a problem with the “war on terror” phrase. Terror is a tactic. You don’t declare war on a tactic. You declare war on the people who threaten you. That would be Muslim radicals. The proper phrase should be the “War on Islamic Fascism,” but you just know that no good peace-at-any-price Democrat would ever go along with that. Besides, it’s offensive to Muslim terrorists.

Among Holocaust deniers, just as many are radicaly rightists as radical leftists.

Please explain to me something: what “rightist” (which actually is almost never used as a term by the way) denied the Holocaust ever happened?
I also don’t believe that is the point of this column post. The point is that there are two classes of people on the left: There are the elites who “lead” the nation, as Pelosi and Murtha and Kerry and Hillary believe they do. Then there are the idiots that actually believe them.
While yes, the “war on terror” is a misnomer, as stated in the post, there is NO excuse to try and cut it from the defense budget. Liberals in this country simply refuse to acknowledge the FACT that there are people in this world that don’t want people to be granted basic freedoms that are RIGHTS to being a human being.
Haha, just for example: socialists like Hillary who think that public ownership of goods is the solution to the problem. Even though every socialist society in the history of the world has collapsed. A free society is a successful society, however within the moral limits that our founding fathers originally placed on us (which unfortunately are almost extinct due to the same leftist idiots.)

Stray thoughts
Instead of knee jerk reaction all the developed world should have taken a small pause to understand terrorism and impact of our reaction, and concentrated on terrorism eradication (words hurt the other party)
we could have captured Alqaieda not strengthen it. People should understand that this should not have been called crusade and War. Our democratic values should not be compromised. Once we lost those values we are sitting on the same pedestal as the other party.
Saddam was secular dictator and after his death the transition to democracy is the most probable course. The world changed for ever. Iran and Saudi have started questioning the American might. American economy is huge deficit. The $ devalued by almost 15% in the last 5 years. This gave strength to natural enemies. If this si not corrected in the next 10 years, we will slip into another cold war We will have more people aligned against us,
