Amnesty Deal Reached
Written by Sam on May 17th, 2007We all knew this was coming. Is anyone surprised? I am pretty sure at this point that my days in the GOP are numbered. I will not be able to continue to support this party if they put this into law.

About 15 minutes after I saw the President speak on FoxNews Channel, I sent an e-mail to the RNC and told them to remove me from all mailing lists :-).

Gary–did you explain that the reason was the amnesty bill?
The Republicans are doing this because they think they’ll get away with it. They think the conservative base cares more about winning elections than advancing conservative policies. I can only pray that they’re wrong. For me, I know I won’t take this lying down. I’ve sat out elections before to punish the GOP. Will the rest of the base follow suit in 2008 if this bill becomes law? I sure hope so. The GOP has to get the message that they can’t go on infuriating conservatives without paying a price. It’s an open question whether the base will send them that message.

I truly hope that Lindsay Graham has a primary challenger next year. I will work day and night for whoever it is.

Yes I made clear in my email that the Republicans sold us out by giving amnesty.

At this point in the day I’ve contacted five congressmen, six senators and the RNC. Just saw Senator Kyl sellout on Hannity & Colmes…fuming now!!!

I favor enforcing the laws, but I am also extremely pro-immigration and I would readily point out that the U.S. population is reproducing below the birth rate. That could devestate the nation’s outlook on life; I would rather deal with illegal immigration than deal with population stagnation.
If Americans start having four or five kids to a family, then maybe I’d be much more gung ho about deporting illegal aliens, but certainly not before.

Jon Kyl was supposed to be one of the few honest men up on the hill, it is too bad he has broken his word and not even a year after his tough re-election battle this last year.
The GOP seems deadset on committing suicide.

Jon Kyl is doing this because he has a large Hispanic population in his state. He is selling out the rest of this country to protect his own ass, so he thinks.

Kyl was just re-elected by promising NOT to support amnesty, is that not proof enough for anyone that being in favor of good immigration law is also good politics? Basically Kyl is a flat out liar and scoundrel. He would resign if he had any sense of shame or any manhood. The GOP will most certainly die if they continue to abuse their own people in this flagrant fashion.

Just when thought it couldn’t get any worse….was researching this amnesty sellout and look at this section! These Congressmen out to be tried with treason at this point!:

The U.S. does have a low birthrate and people should have more kids. However, how does importing foreigners to displace Americans help matters?
Japan is facing the same kind of situation, but they are compensating with increased capital investment and technology. Obviously, it would be better if they were having large families but I think this is a better solution than importing a permanent foreign underclass. At least Japan will still be around in 100 years. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same of many Western countries.

Nothing kills fertility rates faster or more thuroughly than the welfare state. The less liberal a nation’s policies the more likely we are to see a rise in birth rates.

This piece of legislation is as worthless as the paper it is written upon. It is “make work” for congressional staffs and re-election publicity for Congressmen. This law looks like a constituent letter: restate back to the sender that they said in the letter. There will be no new news and it is stating the obvious.
Neither side is going to do anything about the issue, no matter what happens on the border. This President is a riddle, he says one thing and does another. No wonder he and Blair got along so well. The sad part is Bush/Cheney squandered the first decade of a new century. What a waste!

Mexicans are simply not a permanent foreign underclass, any more than were the Irish or Italians in the 1850s.

Not sure where you live, but given that I live 12 miles from the Mexican border, I can safely say that the invasion of illegal aliens is a recipe for turning large portions of the country into Third World conditions. The incidence of tuberculous alone has risen from almost 0 in 1990 to about 10,000 last year alone just in the city of San Diego.

For those of us (hopefully all) who care about who gets the Republican nomination, follow this link to see what McCain said recently: http://blog.washingtonpost.com/capitol-briefing/
Presidential? God save the United States and this dishonorable party.

We need respect for the law. If they want to get in line and enter properly I don’t have a problem with it. But when they come illegally and flaunt it, I have a big problem with it. Jorge Boosh has been a big disappointment to me.
