Written by Benaiah on May 23rd, 2007Mexico is beefing up its consulates here in the States to better serve its citizens, many of whom reside in America illegally.
As the consulate that opened last month in Little Rock illustrates, the Mexican government is following its citizens far from the border into the growing quarters of Latino migration, much of it illegal.
Since 2000, consulates have opened in places where immigration from Mexico has soared, including St. Paul; Indianapolis; Kansas City, Mo.; Omaha and Raleigh, N.C.
I guess you just have to go where your citizens are.

Must be nice to have a government that cares about its people. Our government seems determined to destroy our people.

Exactly. Mexico is simply doing what is in its own best interest (or rather the interest of the elites who run the nation), would that our own nation do the same.
Now that I think about it, we are doing the same thing. Open, illegal immigration is a great boom to the elites of this nation, but wrecks the economic lives of the typical American and cultural stability of society. If the US and Mexico were truly responsive to the needs of their citizens this would not even be an issue.

Mike: You nailed it. It is about R and D elites in this country who won’t live with the consequences of their destruction of the Nation. Furthermore, they are confident that their money will buy their way out of harm and keep up their position in whatever follows with their descendants.
There is a reason why we don’t speak Pictish or Algonquin.

The Mexican Government cares so much that it wishes and blatantly works towards sending its workforce to another country rather than institute sound policy to improve conditions at home that would keep its valued citizens home.. I define caring differently.
The Mexican Government cares about the revenue stream from America when its citizens send money home. That is why Mexico is increasing its lobbying efforts by beefing up these consulates.
