‘The Sound of Silence’

Sunday, June 3rd, 2007

In response to the Wall Street Journal’s video of their editors calling opponents of the immigration bill “foaming at the mouth” and stating in multiple ways that the conservative response to the bill was irrational and without a plan of its own, the editors of National Review challenged the editors of the Wall Street Journal to a moderated debate on immigration. The WSJ, who just a few days ago were on a moral high horse looking down upon the “foaming,” ignorant opponents, have been strangely silent to the challenge.

I guess it’s just not worth the time of the WSJ to debate others when they are so intellectually superior. The arrogance of the inside-the-beltway crowd strikes again.

Can We Start Fighting the ‘War on Terror’ Yet?

Sunday, June 3rd, 2007

If we had a President who was truly committed to committing actual warfare rather than political correct “war” to appease the international community, and if the opposition party would actually root for our armed forces’ success, the Pentagon would be drawing up battle plans now:

The countdown to Israel’s destruction has begun, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in a speech commemorating the death of Iranian revolution leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini on Sunday.

“The arrogant superpowers and the Zionist regime invested all their efforts during the 33-day war, but after 60 years, their pride has been trampled and the countdown to the destruction of this regime has been started by Hizbullah fighters,” the president was quoted as saying by Iranian news agency Mehr.

We need to start fighting this war in a no-holds-barred manner now. The terrorists and the regimes that support them have no problem doing so and it’s time we responded with real crushing force.
