I called you out at your previous post, for misrepresenting what the Cornyn amendment was trying to do. You did not respond because there is no defense. Whether immigration passes this year or not, conservatives must not stoop to Kos levels to scare voters.
Actually, it was Sam. But we do agree on most things so I’ll let that one slide.
And furthermore, “Gceres” responded adequately to your statement about Cornyn’s amendment so I’m assuming Sam didn’t see a need to further respond..
A few days ago you claimed that those of us against the bill had no plan, and I pointed out that I had written out a basic plan on a previous comment, that I knew you saw, because you commented on the same post after I did. Now you make this assertion… honestly, I don’t really care, but just because you disagree with the response that you’re given doesn’t mean you need to waste our time whining about how “we didn’t respond” to your statements.

Thank God…we are not out of the clear yet as long as the Dems control the Senate they will try again.
I do know that I did my part today…called Diane Feinstein’s offices (all 4 district offices and the office in DC) today and actually called the office in DC TWICE.
I got two neighbors and my partner to call her as well. Granted she voted like we knew she would (she’s a lost cause) but at least we felt part of the process.
One person at one of the district offices told me they received hundreds if not thousands of calls about the bill today and that they were overwhelmingly opposed.
The next object of my disappointment with illegal immigration is going to be John McCain….I already e-mailed him once. I will not vote for him no matter what. Immigration has to be a litmus test for Republicans this year!

Well if my response before wasn’t adequate for Joe let’s get to it yet again.
Joe, your own definition of the amendment sated that it would forbid legal status to people who didn’t show up to their deportation hearings. Do you realize as I asked before, that this makes them FUGITIVES FROM THE LAW?!! If they didn’t show up for a court date for a traffic ticket you would have a bench warrant issued and you would have additional charges filed against you.
Now you may think it is appropriate for Senators of the United States to allow fugitives to be forgiven and rewarded with legal status but I assure you that the vast majority of the American people do NOT agree with these Senators.

Oh, good. My senators voted against it.
I don’t know what Lindsay Graham’s deal is. I wish Gresham or Joe would run against him in the primary. Ooooh! Or Mark Sanford.
Gceres: I agree with the Cornyn amendment, and I said so.
I said it is indefensible to misrepresent the GOP’s objections to the amendment. Are our GOP Senators so blindly affectionate towards Mexican immigrants that they would oppose blocking terrorists from being naturalized? No, but said previous topic would make that allegation.

I apologize to Joe if I mistook his position…however, I do think that some GOP Senators ARE that blind.
