Thompson Leads North Carolina Polls
Written by Sam on June 10th, 2007RALEIGH - In a surprising development, a Republican presidential candidate who hasn’t even officially announced his candidacy yet is leading polls of Republican voters in North Carolina.
If a vote were held today for the Republican primary, former US Senator Fred Thompson of Tennessee would be leading the way among all candidates in the party, says Public Policy Polling which is located in Raleigh.
According to the report, Thompson’s support jumped from 25% of likely Republican voters in May to 37% in this month’s poll, while Rudy Giuliani’s support fell to 25%.
The poll said that John McCain and Mitt Romney both were tied with 14%.
Wow…………….I think we are going to see Thompson dominate the southern primaries, with McCain, Romney, and Giuliani splitting up many of the other states. If they all stick it out through the nomination process, we are going to have one hell of a Republican convention next year.

You can always count on cowardly anonymous posters to make stupid, irrelevant comments that show their ignorance and their unwillingness to show their real name (or even a pseudonym). Way to go!

What an ignorant thing to say…especially considering North Carolina has more universities per capita than any other state save Massachusetts and Raleigh is ranked as the most educated city in the country on several national ranking systems.

Actually, I think this shows just how intelligent the folks in North Carolina are.
