Bloomberg Tells GOP Goodbye
Written by Sam on June 19th, 2007Well, really, it’s not like he was ever much of a Republican anyway. He only became one to run for mayor and he certainly hasn’t governed like one. Obviously, this leaves speculation wide open of a Presidential bid, despite his insistence otherwise.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg is leaving the Republican party and will remain unaffiliated with any political party, CBS 2 HD learned Tuesday night.
The move will clearly begin advancing rumors that the mayor is gearing towards a presidential run, which he has denied in the past.

Bloomberg has little chance of winning, I just don’t see someone (even with his ego) spending that much money with so little chance of getting jack out of it.

A few thoughts here…
1. How can Bloomberg tell the GOP goodbye when he never said hello…yes I know he was a registered Republican but he’s governed as a fascist. He’s like a nagging mother that just won’t shut up and let her adult kids live their own lives.
2. I hope he runs…he will not pull Republican votes. He may actually give the Republicans an edge in states like Pennsylvania where he may pull those obnoxious “independent” soccer moms in the Philadelphia suburbs and thus tilt the state to the GOP.
3. I would love to see this blowhard blow his fortune on an ego-driven run.
4. Maybe he can run alongside Al Sharpton and they can release a 12 point program to eliminate “hate” speech.

I’m convinced that Bloomberg would pull more votes from the Democrat than the Republican. As I saw somewhere else earlier today (forgot where), “he makes Rudy look like Fred Thompson”!

All I can say is GOOD RIDDANCE! Wait, how can I say that when Bloomberg wasn’t even a Republican to begin with, just as Gceres has posted. I don’t know how anyone considered him a Republican when he didn’t have an ideology even close to one. He only “became” Republican just to run for Mayor in New York. I’m another one who hopes he runs, because I am confident he will take a good number of votes away from the Dems, particularly in Pennsylvania, Florida, and New Jersey.
