Fred Thompson: “Dumb As Hell”

Written by YellowJacket on July 8th, 2007

That’s the latest trotted out by the left, at least. And - get this - they are getting this material from liberal hero Republican scum ok-we-like-him-when-he-insults-Thompson Richard Nixon!

From Kos:

That’s not me speaking. That’s Richard Nixon’s zombie corpse haunting us with words of wisdom from the grave.

Nixon was disappointed with the selection of Thompson, whom he called “dumb as hell.” The president did not think Thompson was skilled enough to interrogate unfriendly witnesses and would be outsmarted by the committee’s Democratic counsel.

Wow. Next thing you know they’ll be attacking a candidate because Dick Cheney once insulted his choice of tie. Honestly, is this the best they have against Fred?

I got this from IMAO, by the way. Here’s what Frank J. had to say about it:

I hope Fred Thompson’s campaign is ready to spin this one, because that’s just the sort of thing that can sink a candidacy if the public finds out about it.

Honestly, is Fred Thompson that squeaky clean that the Kwazy Kos Kids have to reach this much to come up with an attack? Maybe they can find a grade school teacher of his that will testify that Fred Thompson was at times “unruly.” Sometimes the Kos Krowd is so stupid I almost want to make an account over there and lend them a hand. They try hard within their limited mental range, at least.

He is Dumb as Hell. But, coy like a fox. He won’t announce formally for the 2008 presidential race, because he can’t debate for S–t. But he goes around speaking to friendly audiences and raises money. And lets the bloggers and Young R’s do his bidding online. It is a really sad time in history for the Republican

Yeah you guys are totally right that he only was minority counsel for Watergate and brought down a Governor of TN. And he also has played his cards into 2nd place with out even spending any real money. I mean how could he be smart…

LMAO….you have got to be joking….dumb as hell?….let’s look at the facts here:

    1. Nixon, the one who called him dumb as hell first, wound up becoming the most disgraced figure in US history.

    2. The other GOP contenders have spent millions of dollars and nearly every day for the past 2 to 3 years running for President….Thompson is not even an announced candidate and is running first or second in the national polling and ahead in many key states…dumb?

    3. Thompson cannot debate? Are you people crazy? Have you not heard how polished he comes off?

    4. Thompson is proven to get Democratic votes…he got over 60% in his second Senate run.

    5. While all the other candidates have been attacking each other for months, Thompson has masterfully planned to stay above the fray.

    Yeah…dumb as hell….sure.

Who cares what the LA Times thinks. Only libs read that rag anyway. I think we should start a movement to not read any lib rags any more and shut down the money to them. start by reading the Washington Times and make it the fox news of newspapers. We need less lib papers so don’t read them don’t support them igone them. support cons papers like the Washingtion Times and make it a hit and then we have a voice in the newspaper world.

Isn’t it funny that only Republican frontrunners are “dumb as hell”, i.e., Ford, Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II. Then it emerges that Bush II even got higher grades than Kerry, that fountain of all Democratic wisdom (until he lost).

David — I suggest that you learn to communicate in English before you extend your next rallying cry.

It’s “fewer lib papers”, not “less [sic] lib papers”. I learned this basic rule in elementary school — a liberal public school, at that!
