Fred’s First Debate
Written by Benaiah on October 9th, 2007Tonight marks the first debate for Senator Fred Thompson since entering the race last month. Should be interesting. Not that it is a real debate. Look for it on MSNBC tonight at 9:00EST.

Look for Fred to call in sick!

Ouch. As a Fred fan, I wish he had called in sick.

Can someone tell these guys to get some BALLS! Good God. What has happened to our party??????? Nine republicans on stage and only one attacks the socialists in the Dem primary?

These debates are helping the Republicans. They did well.

Thompson is a dud.

First debate? Nope.

I’ve stated before, I worked down the hall from him, he isn’t the brightest color in the crayon box and rather cold to everyone. It’s not his southern “relaxed” style, it’s who he is.

I thought that Fred did well. He did not shine, but it is very hard to shine in the format with 9 guys on stage where everyone is give one minute. No one looked great. No one looked horrible (though I thought Ron Paul came off as a nut job).
Ultimately I think it is only a few of us that pay attention to debates like this anyway.

Fred did well but Rudy clearly won.
McCain and Brownback were worse than usual and Romney is heading downhill.
Everyone else did about the same as usual.

I thought Fred was awful….. It seemed he was just reciting talking points. He also appeared OLD & SLOW! As for the rest of the field….. no one impressed me much. I say it is a toss up at this point.

Thompson did fine. This is a great lineup of Republican candidates.

if you cant shine with 8 other people on a wooden stage, how will you shine on the global one? He has no leadership qualities, none.
