What you’re forgetting is that Clinton’s image has nowhere to go but up. The right wing fringe has already aired every piece of dirt they could conceive of, and everyone outside of the trailer parks is tired of hearing about it. Her PR people are also very, very good and her TV persona has improved substantially.
On the other hand, Giuliani comes off as an ignorant, mean-spirited one trick pony whose raison d’etre is to run his mouth about 9/11 with every breath he takes. Also, I imagine the Democrats will swiftboat him with his 3 wives, kids who hate him and NYC firefighters who don’t seem to agree that he’s the Messiah that he thinks he is.

I don’t agree, Publius- in all polls, Hillary’s “unfavorables” are drastically higher than Rudy’s. Hillary does have a good PR machine, but as a result, nothing she says appears genuine- anyone can tell that every word out of her mouth is focus-grouped and poll-tested before she utters it. She does not appear genuine.

But my point is that Hillary’s momentum is positive. She has nowhere to go but up at this point. People have already heard all of the Limbaugh-esque garbage on her ad nauseam and they’re tired of it.
Most people don’t know Giuliani outside of 9/11. The Democrats will have a field day with him once they start pointing out that he’s a lousy mayor and a lousy human being, which people haven’t been hearing for the last 15 years every time they tune their radios to AM.

Publius… you obviously did not look at the details of the PA poll because it shows Giuliani has more room for growth than does Hillary.
“If Clinton is the Democratic candidate for President, 36 percent of Pennsylvania voters say they would support her, with 21 percent who might support her and 41 percent who say they would not vote for her under any circumstances. If Giuliani gets the Republican nod, 27 percent say they would vote for him, with 36 percent who might vote for him and 33 percent who say they won’t vote for him under any circumstances. ”
61 percent would consider voting for Giuliani where as only 57 percent would consider voting for Clinton. It is only 4 points.
