Graham Gets Primary Challenger
Written by Sean on November 15th, 2007Buddy Witherspoon, a long-time South Carolina committeeman to the Republican National Committee, will be announcing this week that he will challenge Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) in the GOP primary, according to a source familiar with his intentions. Witherspoon, an orthodontist, is known as an arch-conservative on social and cultural issues, and plans to run a campaign centered on fighting illegal immigration.
Witherspoon is an unknown within the state, but he has one thing going for him: he’s not Lindsey Graham. It’ll be interesting to see just how far that major asset gets him.

Some good news. I just learned that Tim Carnes is running, too.
Now let’s just hope that conservative opinion leaders don’t go soft and support Grahamnesty. We know the Republicans in Congress will support Miss Lindsey, but I’m hoping the talk-radio stars and the columnists will come out for a conservative challenger instead.

Awesome. I now know who I am voting for.
The only thing I am concerned about is with two of them challenging him I am worried they may dilute the anti-Grahamnesty vote, allowing him to win the primary.
