CNN Poll Shows Shakeup in New Hampshire

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

Romney has gained more ground in the poll, while Thompson has slipped to sixth place.

  1. Romney - 33%
  2. McCain - 18%
  3. Giuliani - 16%
  4. Paul - 8%
  5. Huckabee - 5%

Thompson’s negatives have really bounced in New Hampshire, which is surprising to me.

Thompson’s negatives have grown sharply since he entered the race.

In July, a CNN/WMUR poll of New Hampshire Republicans found 30 percent would not support him “under any circumstances” — but in the new poll, that figure grew to 50 percent.

Thompson On the Second Amendment

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

With the upcoming DC gun ban case to be heard by the Supreme Court, Fred Thompson put up a statement concerning his view of the Second Amendment and the absurdity of this case.  He is spot on in his analysis.

DeLay Says GOP Leadership Not Getting It

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

Tom DeLay is accusing someone else of not getting it. Is he kidding?

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay may not be in a leadership position on Capitol Hill anymore, but that doesn’t mean he can’t weigh in on the current GOP leadership.

DeLay told Yeas & Nays that Republicans in Congress are “looking for something to believe in” and “they’re not getting it out of this Republican leadership. … The leadership just isn’t getting it.”

Examiner

Is this the same Tom DeLay that twisted arms in the last few minutes to get MediCare Part D passed, costing us three quarters of a trillion dollars over the next ten years? How about the same Tom DeLay that said that “Republicans had done so well in cutting spending that he declared an ‘ongoing victory,’ and said there is simply no fat left to cut in the federal budget.” Not even to mention the fact that he cost us a House seat last year by running for reelection and then dropping out after winning the primary when it was too late to get a replacement on the ballot, a very selfish move on his part.

Just go away, Tom.

Gilmore Announces Senate Run

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

Former Republican Gov. Jim Gilmore announced yesterday that he will run for the U.S. Senate seat held by retiring Republican John Warner.

Gilmore’s announcement sets up a campaign with another former governor, Democrat Mark R. Warner - a clash between two men with vastly different views about government and little affection for the other.

Winston-Salem Journal

Gilmore would make for an awesome Senator, but it’s going to be a tough battle against Mark Warner. He will have to hit Warner hard on his tax and spend leftist agenda while Virginia governor. He has a good video announcement below:

It’s Your Money

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007
Sens. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) and Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) call each other “brother,” and that brotherly relationship is paying off in defense earmarks worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Stevens, the longest-serving Senate Republican, has secured $194 million in earmarks, while Inouye can boast of earmarks totaling $203.6 million, according to a database compiled by watchdog organization Taxpayers for Common Sense (TCS).

Gov. Palin, I know you’re busy dealing with this kind of waste and corruption in your own state, but could we bother you for just a bit to find somebody willing to give this guy a run for Veco’s his money?
