DeLay Says GOP Leadership Not Getting It
Written by Sam on November 20th, 2007Tom DeLay is accusing someone else of not getting it. Is he kidding?
Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay may not be in a leadership position on Capitol Hill anymore, but that doesn’t mean he can’t weigh in on the current GOP leadership.
DeLay told Yeas & Nays that Republicans in Congress are “looking for something to believe in” and “they’re not getting it out of this Republican leadership. … The leadership just isn’t getting it.”
Is this the same Tom DeLay that twisted arms in the last few minutes to get MediCare Part D passed, costing us three quarters of a trillion dollars over the next ten years? How about the same Tom DeLay that said that “Republicans had done so well in cutting spending that he declared an ‘ongoing victory,’ and said there is simply no fat left to cut in the federal budget.” Not even to mention the fact that he cost us a House seat last year by running for reelection and then dropping out after winning the primary when it was too late to get a replacement on the ballot, a very selfish move on his part.
Just go away, Tom.

Thank you. Since his “triumphant” return, with the book (including the section where he lied to Chris Matthews about what it said regarding Dick Armey, a real conservative), blog, and media reports, I can’t understand why any conservatives take him seriously.
