Former Republican Gov. Jim Gilmore announced yesterday that he will run for the U.S. Senate seat held by retiring Republican John Warner.
Gilmoreās announcement sets up a campaign with another former governor, Democrat Mark R. Warner - a clash between two men with vastly different views about government and little affection for the other.
Gilmore would make for an awesome Senator, but it’s going to be a tough battle against Mark Warner. He will have to hit Warner hard on his tax and spend leftist agenda while Virginia governor. He has a good video announcement below:

“Gilmore would make for an awesome Senator”
Huh, based on what exactly?
All reviews of him by conservatives who I trust have not been positive from what I’ve seen, just a sampling:

I do know for sure that Gilmore would make a terrible candidate.
I have heard that General Pace might run.
