Rich countries must pay up to help poor countries adapt to climate change
Written by Sam on December 4th, 2007Rich countries have paid only $67m into a UN fund to help the world’s poorest countries adapt to climate change which is less than what Americans spend on suntan lotion each month, according to a new report published today by international agency Oxfam.
“This figure represents quite an insult, to be frank, given that the least developed countries will need at least $1-2 billion to meet just their most urgent adaptation needs,” said report author Charlotte Sterrett. Oxfam calls on rich countries gathering in Bali for the 13th UN conference on climate change to honour their promises and increase their commitments to pay adaptation costs.
As if any of that money would actually be used to “combat” climate change and not end up in the hands of third world dictators and tyrants. Now they finally reveal the real motive behind the global warming push.

Once again, you have no idea what “Marxism” means. I suggest that you actually read some Marx, rather than conservapedia’s article on Marxism.
As another reader pointed out earlier, you have a similarly irritating tic of using the word “communist” as a generic descriptor for things you don’t like.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.
Sounds like Marxism to me (under the assumption that these countries really “need” this money for “urgent adaptation needs).

Where, exactly, did Marx write this?
Your own statement reveals that you have literally zero understanding of Marx’s analysis of economic systems. Again, I suggest that you spend 15 minutes reading about this before you continue to make comments that reflect your complete, abject ignorance on anything that Marx wrote.
Believe it or not, what Ronald Reagan and conservapedia say about Marx’s texts are not accurate representations. This would be sort of like reading Hezbollah’s take on the Torah.
The original texts would probably be hard for you to grasp, so if you need a watered down version I can recommend some good sources. It may not be out on video yet.

Oh, Publius, you know that’s really kind of you, but I’ll be alright. I’ve read the Communist Manifesto. Thanks, but I think I have a pretty good grasp of it.
I have a joke to go along with this:
What’s the difference between conservatives and liberals?
Liberals read the Communist Manifesto… conservatives understand the Communist Manifesto!

And, by the way, it wouldn’t have hurt you to do a little Googling before making demands of us considering your intellectual superiority over us stupid, knuckle-dragging illiterates. Turns out Marx did actually write such a thing:

Yes, yes — Unlike Mr. Barringer and the other posters on this website, I’m happy to admit when I’m wrong. I didn’t know that Marx had written this.
In all fairness, “Communist Manifesto” is not really representative of his work on *economic* topics. This “rise up and defeat the capitalists” stuff is more typical of his later period when it seems like he was using a lot of drugs. Capital (V1) is basically free of normative judgements; it’s just a good description of the mechanism behind wealth and profit flows in capitalist economies.
