Well that just about blind sided me. Anyone else see that coming?

I didn’t see it coming either and expected him to chose either Thompson or Hunter. It still doesn’t compare to the shock of learning Jim Gilchrist is endorsing Huckbee.

I’ve posted this at more than just this blog, but I definitely do not work for Romney’s campaign. I want some conservatives, who I feel haven’t given Mitt a fair shake thus far, to seriously reconsider their positions. Romney is clearly now the anti-illegal immigration candidate. What candidate can win the support of ALL conservatives…fiscal, defense, AND social? Mitt’s the man!

I didn’t see it coming, and I’m appalled. I of course predicted that he’d endorse Thompson.
I certainly did not expect it. I was hoping Tom would endorse Fred, since I am supporting the former Senator from Tennessee. However, this helps me to soften my approach to Mitt. I have already been impressed by Mitt’s speech on faith a couple of weeks ago, and other things from him recently. I think he is my third choice, after Fred and Duncan Hunter. Tom was my original choice before Fred appeared on the horizon this spring. I really don’t want to see Giuliani, Huckabee, or McCain get the nomination. I will vote for the nominee, however. I am a Christian Conservative, so for those who believe us from the “Christian Right” are about to create a third party if one like Giuliani is elected, I just have to say that you shouldn’t get your hopes up on a third party.
Again, God bless ya Tom, and please run for the Senate against Salazar in 2010! Thank you for your willingness to take on the odds and to do us a great service by bringing illegal immigration to the front of the national debate.

I am not surprised that he chose Romney over the other candidates. I am a little surrprised he chose anyone at all though.
Romney is the only one who has been talking about immigration that has a serious chance of winning.
The endorsement of Huckabee by Jim Gilchrist is disturbing if you think about it. Huckabee is probably the most pro-amnesty candidate in the race, even more so than McCain, and Gilchrist claims to be Mr. Anti-Immigration. Nobody should take Jim Gilchrist seriously after his endorsement.

Of course I saw it coming, for 2 reasons:
1) In his web attack ad Romney is the only frontrunner that Tancredo did not really attack for attending the UNIVISION debate
2) It makes sense that Tancredo picked someone like himself: a big scumbag who talks alot but is very irritating
Another prediction: if Tancredo runs for the senate he will get DESTROYED in a general election (and will probably lose a primary)
1) Romney is not clearly now the anti-illegal immigration candidate. He was for Bush-McCain-Kennedy before he was against it (paging John Kerry). Tancredo may have some good things to say about illegal immigration, but he’s got a real foot-in-mouth problem and comes across as running for his ego sometimes. I don’t think this endorsement is nearly as important as Rep. King’s in Iowa.
2) Who can unite the fiscal cons, social cons, and defense cons besides Romney? Um, you forgot Fred, who in case you didn’t notice, is spending all of his time in Iowa these last few weeks and is making some waves there.
3) Just wondering Cory, which Mitt do I need to reconsider? The one from 1994? The one from 2002? Or the one who magically started agreeing with everything conservatives care about right around the time he started running for President? Just checking.
Langley, I wouldn’t expect Cory to respond. He is spamming Fred sites with this drivel. He posted the exact post on my blog yesterday. I found it humorous, too.

Some of the comments on here make me chuckle.
