Funny, he didn’t show any of those video clips with him standing shoulder to shoulder with Ted Kennedy. Oh, but we’re supposed to forget that because of his POW experience. Right.
Given McCain’s striking lack of accomplishments for conservatives, and his striking abundance of accomplishments for liberals, it’s no surprise that he leans so heavily on his war record–he’s got almost nothing else to recommend him. Most of the reason why he thinks he should be president is what happened from 1967 to 1973. Does that disturb you? It should. It’s a replay of John Kerry’s campaign strategy, the only difference being that McCain genuinely suffered in Vietnam.
If he gets elected, don’t be surprised when his administration turns out to be four to eight years of heartburn for conservatives. The fact that he has to spend so much time in his political advertisements reminding you of his war record, instead of what he’s actually DONE in politics, serves as a constant reminder of how little he’s done for us, and how much he’s done for the Left.

Amen Alan. McCain is solid until we really, really need him, then he is a pile.
With what happened in Pakistan yesterday, some over at RedState are suggesting that McCain may be what America needs with all of his foreign policy experience. I am curious if that incident will make anyone look twice at who they are supporting.

Sure, let’s elect Mr. Terrorists’ Bill of Rights. Because foreign-policy exprience and a war record gave McCain his great judgment. Especially important in today’s dangerous world, no?
Regardless of your opinion on John McCain’s stands in the Senate, you can’t deny that this is a strong, compelling ad — that would likely resonate with many.
