Republicans Who Think They Can Dictate What and Where You Can Eat

Written by Sam on February 1st, 2008
Mississippi legislators this week introduced a bill that would make it illegal for state-licensed restaurants to serve obese patrons. Bill No. 282, a copy of which you’ll find below, is the brainchild of three members of the state’s House of Representatives, Republicans W. T. Mayhall, Jr. and John Read, and Democrat Bobby Shows. The bill, which is likely dead on arrival, proposes that the state’s Department of Health establish weight criteria after consultation with Mississippi’s Council on Obesity.

The Smoking Gun

With morons like these, who needs John McCain to change the face of the GOP?

Part of me dislikes this stuff, but part of me can rationalize it to a point. Remember many of these obese people will try to suck our wallets clean when they need government assistance to deal with the problems. It is just one example of having one part of the nanny state leads to the necessity of almost having another.

That’s why you don’t provide the government assistance to begin with.

Why Republicans? You have a Democrat too. But if you are a liberal I am sure you didn’t notice that. Furthermore, I think that fat people are fat becuase they simply eat too much. That is fine but when they get sick they want the Government to take care of them. Face it, nobody holds their mouth open and forces the food down their throat. The law is clear that a bar cannot serve a drunk. Why can a McDonalds serve a fat butt obese person. Somebody needs to tell them no. Never heard a fat person admit it was their fault. Either it is genes or they have a glandular problem. Never hear them say ” I am just a “glutton”!

Did anybody realize that they are telling the business to refuse customers?

Also, that restaurants have to decide who is obese and who is not?

By the way, what is keeping the people disenfranchised from starting an underground chain of “Fat boys” restaurants and thus giving the shift to the state in taxes and challenge licensed restaurants profits?

    Authoritarians are so stupid!!

What is next, a proclamation to the citizens of Mississippi to stop breathing?

Go ahead, make the law so restrictive that everyone becomes a criminal. The state becomes discredited, the people will become disobediant. Anarchy is then the norm.
