Hillary Wins Rhode Island…

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Exit polls give Hillary small leads in Ohio and Texas but looks like its going to be close. An interesting note though is that late deciders (people who decided in the last week) broke for Hillary by 20%+, that is an astounding statistic. If she pulls off both Ohio and Texas, then it will be a race to the convention.

UPDATE: Chris Peden is getting crushed by Ron Paul right now. Pete Olson and Shelly Sekula-Gibbs look like they are headed for a runoff. Olson is the Red State endorsed conservative in the race.

UPDATE: Interesting to look at are the maps on CNN’s site that detail results by county. Its a clear rural v. urban split. Hillary is winning HUGE margins in lightly populated Republican rural counties (one of them in Ohio was 72%-28% with 37% in) but losing by 10-15% in the heavily populated Democratic counties. The question is can the rural Ds have any sway in their party… we shall see.

UPDATE: Looks like it could be a long… night.

UPDATE: Hillary wins in Ohio! This means the race goes on to Pennsylvania for sure.

UPDATE: Looks like Hillary will take the lead in Texas for the first time tonight. Exciting. In other news, Ron Paul is going to have a 40%+ win over Chris Peden.

Tonight’s Election Results

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Update 10:36PM - It’s not been called, but I am fairly certain Clinton has won Ohio.  She has a sizable lead.  In Texas, her and Obama are neck and neck, each with 49% of the vote.

Update 9:40PM - Clinton has won Rhode Island.

Update 9:09PM - The Huckabee Campaign has announced that he will drop out of the race tonight. Maybe now someone can convince him to run for the Senate against Pryor. He would be the only one with a chance to beat him.

Update 9:00PM - McCain has been declared the winner of Texas and Rhode Island and that now gives him enough delegates to clinch the Republican nomination.

Update 8:18PM - McCain and Obama have won Vermont. McCain has also won Ohio.

Obama’s Support of Live Birth Abortion

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

I want to preface this with two things. One, I am not a supporter of Alan Keyes. I personally think he does more harm to the conservative cause than good. Second, the part in here about “Who would Jesus vote for?” is not relevant to this post (that’s a completely stupid question). What I want you to pay attention to are the parts where Keyes talks about what a disgusting man Barack Obama is in his support of live birth abortion and his opposition to the Born Alive Infants Protection Act that passed the U.S. Senate unanimously in 2002 and how he held up a similar legislation in the Illinois State Senate from passing that same year.

From the Hotline blog, today’s “Quote of the Day”:

“Guys, I mean, come on. I just answered like eight questions.”

Barack Obama, Chicago Sun-Times, 3/4

Awww, life’s tough when the media actually asks you questions for once, isn’t it?!?

By the way, I think the whole fallout from Sen. Obama’s NAFTA flap is hilarious, and I suspect that is where the quote is coming from.

Super Tuesday Part II

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

McCain is already our de facto nominee, but tonight could also decide the Democratic race. If Obama sweeps tonight’s primaries then Hillary is done. I don’t think that is going to be the case, though. My prediction for tonight is that Obama wins in Texas and Vermont and Hillary takes Ohio and Rhode Island. McCain wins all four.
