Sen. Obama’s Minister
Written by YellowJacket on March 13th, 2008First of all, I think we can all agree that the guy is a loony tune.
I’m having a hard time reconciling Sen. Obama’s “post-racial campaign” with his attendance of this man’s church for over 20 years. Though Sen. Obama tries to duck from any flak by referring to his minister as an “old uncle who sometimes says things I disagree with,” it is just inconceivable to me that any reasonable-thinking person, which for all his political faults Obama appears to be, would continue to support a church with such rdiculous, hateful sermons (not to mention, as another blogger notes [see the hat tip], that he would subject his two daughters to such insane diatribe).
Either Sen. Obama is not as “post-racial” as he claims to be, or he knew his minister was spouting ridiculousness but continued to attend the church to curry political favor from the minister and likeminded people. I would lean towards the latter reasoning, as we’ve seen Congressional Democrats pander their hearts out to the Kossites and lefty bloggers’ dreams during electoin season then refuse to put their votes where their mouths were time and time again.

Might as well clue in those of you here that I’ve argued with over the past few months. There is no secret that I cannot stand John McCain as a candidate and it makes me sick to my stomach that he’s the nominee.
But, I’ve done some major thinking about it and I’ve come to the following decision….provided he chooses a solid VP, I’m going to hold my nose and vote for him in the general provided that Obama is the nominee. Obama is not capable of uniting or leading this nation. He is a lightweight. Even more so, he’s an empty suit.
If Hillary steals the nomination which is still a real possibility, I will stick with my no-McCain pledge and vote for a third party candidate.

Gceres, How is Hillary stealing the election? Both Hillary and Obama raised money in FL, neither of them campaigned in FL… and both of the candidates names were on the ballot. Not to mention we had a record turnout by democrats in a primary on Jan. 29th.
As far as Michigan goes, same thing… neither campaigned, both raised money. Only difference is Obama CHOSE to take his name off of the ballot… Hillary CHOSE to keep her name on the ballot.
So, please explain how Hillary is stealing this election? I don’t see how anyone can say that.

Hillary definitely wants Fl seated. But seating them is changing the rules in the middle of the game. I call that cheating. Never mind what she is promising every super Delegate. The money is flowing.

Wait… Obama is pandering to these psychos…does that mean that people who believe this crap are allowed to vote? Yikes…

The DNC rules pertaining to the states that violated the rules, WAS very clear to all the campaigns. The rules state “ANY STATE THAT VIOLATES THE RULES WILL BE STRIPPED OF ALL OF THEIR DELEGATES… HOWEVER, AFTER ALL THE STATE PRIMARIES HAVE BEEN HELD… THE CREDENTIALS COMMITTEE MAY VOTE TO SEAT THE DELEGATES FROM THOSE STATES AT THE NATIONAL CONVENTION.” It would seem to me that Hillary’s campaign was better prepared for a possible brokered convention.
So, Michael… I call that pretty smart! I would call Obama’s decision stupid.
Because it looks more and more like the Credentials Committee will be forced to seat the delegates from these two states, due to the fact that there is not a presumptive nominee.

Tally! You are back! Have you found out what constitutes a “windfall profit” yet?

Dave,
When are you going to start paying me to be your teacher?
If you don’t know the definition of something… LOOK IT UP!
Seriously, how lame are you?

Anyone who in the year 2008 cannot clearly see that this is how the Clintons act, have always acted, and always will act….that they seek to destroy others in order to win instead of trying to boost themselves and that they will disregard set rules at the tip of a hat; then anyone that cannot clearly see this as cheating has simply drunk too much Kool-Aid over the years and I am not about to try to detox such thinking.

Care to enlighten me on what rule that Hillary is breaking?
What don’t you understand about:
“AFTER ALL THE STATE PRIMARIES HAVE BEEN HELD… THE CREDENTIALS COMMITTEE MAY VOTE TO SEAT THE DELEGATES FROM THOSE STATES AT THE NATIONAL CONVENTION”?
The above, is PART of the rule! Hillary is NOT breaking any rules.
Also, Obama knew that he could not win in Michigan, he was behind in the polling by 40% when he made the decission to take his name off of the ballot there.

Gceres,
What rule did Hillary break? Neither candidate was required to take their names off the ballots.
I don’t need any damn kool aide, that is reserved exclusively for you Bible Thumpers. (In case you didn’t know that phrase, is from the JIM JONES suicide pact of religious nut jobs.) But you probably weren’t even born then!

Prof. Tally,
I know what the words mean, but I dont know what level of profit constitutes “windfall”. And since you, in your deep and syrupy wisdom, think that you should decide how much profit a company should make, I want to know what that level is. You are the one out here pushing this “windfall tax”, so enlighten us all.

I thought that this topic of discussion was on Sen. Obama.
But… if you really have NO CLUE what a “Windfall Profit” is… It is a ENORMOUS rise in profit over previous years, made off of revenue generated by a rise in retail prices… without any justification for the elevated cost to the consumer. There is no definitive #, but I would say that when a company’s profit is say… 200% or more above the previous year, yet… they cannot show that the cost of production, distrubtion, marketing, packaging, etc., has risen any higher than the normal rate of inflation THAT would constitute a WINDFALL PROFIT!

Ahhhh yes, there it is. Private business having to justify its business to the government. Ever read the constitution? Maybe I should make you justify why you need to drive such a nice car when others have to ride a city bus? Maybe you should have to justify why you are allowed to live in a nice home when others are in shabby apartments?
Of course, we could turn this around. Maybe people on welfare should have to justify every month why they cant go get a job? Or, we can make women justify why they should be allowed to have children (or abort them)?
So Tally, ever think of your policies placed on things in YOUR life?

You know your lack of life experience is just the tip of your ignorance on what is happening in this country.
I am lucky in that, my children are raised, my home mortgage payment is manageable and my light duty SUV is paid for. I make enough to pay my bills on time and take a nice vacation once a year and pay into my retirement.
We are, in a recession in the country, in case you are unaware. However, being a college student living either off of Mom and Dad or living off of student loans, you really haven’t a clue about what it is like in the REAL WORLD.
So, if you don’t mind being Raped, by the oil companies, insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies, etc. That is fine. But I DO MIND. Not only is, there enormous CEO and other Executive pay that cannot be justified by anyone with a sense of fairness, to their fellow citizens. But the amount of FRAUD that goes on and is basically unpunished and/or excused by people like you, has added to our current recession. I just hope that it doesn’t lead to another GREAT DEPRESSION. But unfortunatley, we are trending closer and closer to that possibility.
And another thing… I guess you don’t mind that the US is, IN DEBT UP TO OUR EYEBALLS TO FORIGN NATIONS.
But, I don’t guess that matters to you now, young man. But believe me it will one day. When you, GROW UP.

Awww. Tally became Nonya. Everyone get a good laugh out of that? I love when libs use the word fairness. Ahh fairness. Sounds so nice.
To be fair, I think you should give up your SUV and take the bus…many people ride buses or bikes you konw? Dont you worship AlGore anyway? I believe SUVs are AlGore sins.
Oil companies = evil! Why dont you just put some water in that SUV and see how well it does. LOL. Dont forget plastic, makeup, rubber, asphalt…you use all of those dont you? Guess what….they come from oil!
Pharma? Yea, they are evil too. Good thing you have never given your children vaccinations or antibiotics. You know why? Cause they are from big, evil pharma. I can only assume, in fact, that you have never taken even an aspirin! Clearly, you are not the type to develop your own drugs. If you were……..you would be pharma! Scary!
And that debt? Yea, its huge. Want to know why? Liberal entitlement programs that have little effect other than wasting money and propagating poverty. Thanks libs. Maybe we should have a “windfall ripoff” law? Anytime a govt program wastes, say 100 trillion dollars over 50 years with no impact on its stated goal, we can just automatically have it expire? How does that sound?
And for the record, I am not a college student, but I appreciate your liberal, “accept everyones opinion but those who disagree” attitude. I am an old man who keeps himself pickled with moderately overpriced scotch.

Dave, You are lying sack of crap! There is NO WAY you are over 30 yrs old.
I did not post under the name NONEYA…. But that was my post. Someone went to my email address and saw that I use to go by NONEYA and changed it.
Whoever the administrator is of this site is care to, explain how that happened?
When, I first discovered Save the GOP, I posted under the name NONEYA. But, changed to, Tallytowngal a few months after that in 2004.
So, Sam, Langley, Alex, Sean, etc. How about an explanation. Or, is it when one your hacks is losing an argument this is how you try to make me look bad.
I don’t have to play games, I am a grown up and I can fight my own battles.
I WILL GLADLY TAKE EACH AND EVERYONE ON YOU ON!
