However, he is clearly one of the worst Congressmen it terms of progressing a Conservative/Liberty agenda - i.e. he has not accomplished anything (but opposes common sense measures like free trade agreements - supposedly because of his superior Constitutional views). Elections are the public interviewing people for a job in their "company". Place the blame where is deserves to be, on the people. And to be honest, Thompson didnt seem to care enough. I was frustrated, as were many others, during the primary season at the wrong perception of Sen. Fred Thompson that he "didn't care enough" about the Presidency because he wasn't a soundbite kind of guy. Looking back on his campaign there is plenty of blame to go around, including those around him and ultimately himself for decisions made, but the campaign season did tick me off on a regular basis. To me it was clear as day who was talking about issues and saying all the right things for the right reason, but most Americans and Republicans tuned him out because he wasn't flashy like Mitt Romney or "maverick" enough like John McCain, or slick enough as Mike Huckabee. So I know what you are saying, and I understand that it was hyperbole, but hyperbole doesn't always serve your best interests. This is a political forum for debate, and I don't expect it to be dry without some humor, but throwing a line out about most Americans being "useless" without some kind of explanation of frustration as I just showed gets you and your argument nowhere.
