For the Love of God Someone Give Maxine Waters a Dictionary

Written by Sam on May 24th, 2008

Socialize….. (Ooops! almost gave myself away) eh…… what I mean is……. it’s about…….. eh……….. We’re gonna take it from you!

Only LA can send a moron like Aunt Esther here to Congress. Nationalizing the oil industry, how Hugo Chavez of her. The result of that brilliant plan would be the loss of thousands of jobs in the oil industry, millions of dollars in lost money by investors, many middle class workers with oil companies in their retirement plans, and the continued dependence of oil in our society.

I don’t have a high opinion of the oil companies either, but it did give me some pleasure to listen to the execs hammer that Congressional panel for their incompetence on this issue in how they have contributed to this problem by blocking drilling within our own borders.

Yep, nations around the world watch things like this and wonder how this nation became so powerful.

It is just absolutely pathetic that we have such clowns in our House of Representatives.

Bush stumbles over confused pauses that are this long and makes statements that are this incoherent routinely! I guess that’s excusable.

On the perils of public ownership of natural resources, Venezuela is probably a non-starter for making your case to most Americans as gasoline costs $0.17 per gallon there:

Granted, routinely expropriating private property stunts long-term growth since property rights are well-known to encourage investment. But you certainly can’t argue that it doesn’t raise market surplus by chipping away at outrageous price markups.

My point of calling her a clown was what she was proposing, not however she may have mangled it.

But go on right ahead and take this opportunity to bash Bush and likewise defend nationalization of economic resources. Don’t you have better things to do with your time in your esteemed teaching position in the UAE?

8/11 of my post was responding to the substantive point of what she’s proposing, and I wasn’t responding to you anyway — It was Sam who made a point about her poor delivery. I’d be happy to discuss it with you if you’d like to respond to the substantive point, rather than making personal attacks.

Once again, this reinforces my point that — despite your claims — all the ad hominem attacks on this website run from you guys to me. I don’t mind, but I don’t want to hear you people say it’s the other way around. In fact, here you people call me an idiot in a discussion I wasn’t even involved in:

    http://www.savethegop.com/2008/05/06/mccain-favors-anti-roe-judges/

I have never mentioned any indicators of intelligence or education without first being called names by someone on this website. All I have ever asked is that people either proffer some objective evidence in support of their claims or shut up about it. No one has taken me up on it yet.

Then you have “moderators” who never make substantive contributions, but repeatedly threaten to ban people, while at the same time making outrageous insults by saying: “See, I’m allowed to insult you but you’re not allowed to insult me.”

And we’re on holiday now; it’s nice to have 3 months of paid vacation every summer.

Wow, what a surprise. Publius said something stupid.

I’m the only one who actually attacked Publius in that post, so Publius can only be referring to me. Calling me one of “you guys” is stupid, because I’m an outsider on this website, the angry sit-out-the-election conservative whose posts cause everyone, including the Republicans, to roll their eyes. Can you come up with an example where a mainstream Save-the-GOP post-writer attacked you in a discussion you weren’t involved in? Or is everyone other than Publius all the same to you?

Publius, the reason why people condescend to you here is that you’re a complete ass. You make facile accusations of bigotry, you say conservatives don’t care about the poor, you keep taunting people on this site to compare IQ scores with you, you say stupid things with an almost comic frequency, and then you whine about the responses you get.

By the way, have you ever *actually* been banned from this website for the asinine and often insulting things you say? Unfortunately, you haven’t, so it appears that you are indeed allowed to insult others, a freedom that you’ve used liberally. Save the GOP allowed you (wrongly, in my view) to fling unsupported accusations of bigotry on this website, and yet you complain about the threats to your freedom to continue being a jerk.

If anyone sees Publius drowning, drop him an anvil.

Alright, buddy. Keep on livin in your dream world in which you never attack anyone, and never show your contempt for the U.S. military, and never make ridiculous claims and ad hominem attacks on others, and the rest of us will keep living in the real world.

3 months paid vacation? Nice. Don’t you have better things to do with your time, then? I mean, as stupid as you have said you think we all are, I would think someone with such high intellectual capacity such as yourself wouldn’t waste their time on a site like this if you find it so unbearable.

Publius, quit crying. Nobody is going to ban you unless you become a total a-hole. I like opposing view points being presented in the discussions because it keeps the site interesting and the conversations alive.

I’m a democrat, but I must admit Waters took a nose-dive here. We need more leadership that can be passionate without being too proud. Her ‘power’ got the best of her here.

Alaska is off-limits. Ask Willie Nelson about biofuel.
